Lucia Lombardo (nee Catanzaro), of East Hanover, New Jersey, passed away on November 21, 2023 in LIVIA Health and Senior Living. Lucia was born on November 18, 1931 in Catania, Italy to Salvatore and Angela Catanzaro (nee Guarnaccia). Lucia dedicated her life to her family. She was a doting mother to her late daughter Maria, who was the center of her universe. Lucia was happiest caring for others, and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She was an animal lover and pet mom to Max and Tony. Prior to her daughter''s passing, Lucia regularly attended mass at St. Virgil''s Parish in Morris Plains, New Jersey. Lucia was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Maria Goldovsky, husband Nunzio Lombardo, brothers Alfredo and Marcantonio Catanzaro, sisters Elena, Maria and Orsola Catanzaro, and brothers-in-law Ugo and Aurelio Lombardo. Lucia is survived by her grandchildren Joseph and Angelina Goldovsky, sisters Rosa Maria and Vittoria Catanzaro, sister-in-law Francesca Lombardo, brother-in-law Donato Lombardo (Melinda), godchildren Lisa Lombardo and Daniele Lombardo (Katharine), nieces Maria Batta (Steven) and Maria Lombardo, and many nieces and nephews in Italy and the United States. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Friday, November 24, 2023 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church, Roseland, NJ with interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ. She worked at Eastern Airlines at Rockefeller Center in New York City. Kathleen enjoyed bowling, Irish dancing, birthday club with her sisters, and time spent with her friends and family. Kathleen was preceded in death by her siblings, Ellen, Marganet, Jack, Joan, and Doris. Kathleen is survived by husband Sean Gallagher, daughter Bridget Parnau, granddaughter Kat Corvino, grandson Kevin Parnau and wife Nadine, grandson John Parnau, and great granddaughter Alivia Parnau. Nicholas J. Rello, Jr. , 46, of South Padre, Tx, formerly of East Hanover, NJ, passed away on June 27, 2023. Nick will be remembered for many things. He was a natural born sportsman--hunting, fishing, and everything in between. As a graduate of Hanover Park High School, Nick loved playing all sports and being part of a team, but where he shined the most was on the wrestling mat. Later on, Nicky pursued a career in fishing down in South Texas, where he worked hard to obtain his Captain's license and operated many boats in his time there. He always adored his grandparents, his parents, and his two sisters, and was as loyal as can be to his friends. Nicky will be missed by many, but will live on in all of our hearts.
