Obituary of Antonio Miraglia Antonio Miraglia, 63, of West Milford, formerly of Paterson, died Friday, February 8, 2019 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Paterson. Born in Montescaglioso, Italy, Antonio was raised there, one of four children born to Vincenzo and Anna Miraglia. Moving with his family to the United States at the age of 18, he settled in Paterson, where he met Maria Martino. The couple fell in love, and in 1976, they married. They started their married life in Paterson, where they welcomed the birth of two sons, and in 1990 moved to West Milford. Antonio worked hard to support his family, working primarily as a Butcher, employed by Food Town, Grand Union, and most recently Shop Rite in Ramsey. He would also regularly hold down a second job, working at a dye house in Paterson or wherever he could be an extra set of hands in the construction industry. When Antonio wasn't working, he would relax watching a game of soccer or gardening in his yard. His fig and lemon trees were like children to him, and he labored over them with love. His favorite pastime, though, was playing with his grandchildren. They were enormous gifts to him, and he loved surrounding himself with their love, light and joy. Antonio is lovingly survived by his wife, Maria; his sons, Vince and his wife Mary, and Philip and his wife Krystal; his brother, Alfonso and his wife Cosima; his sister, Grazia Miraglia and Antonio Larizza; his brother-in-law, Vince Martino and his wife Franca; his sisters-in-law, Angie Malgieri and her husband Bill, Nikki Trouwborst and her husband Jim, and Rosa Miraglia; his eight grandchildren, Isabel, Adam, Ian, Nevaeh, Caprice, Anthoni, Jeremiah, and Malachi; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Giuseppe Miraglia, and his sister-in-law, Tina Martino. Visiting hours will be Monday 4-8 pm at the funeral home. A funeral Mass will be held 11 am Tuesday at St. Gerard Majella RC Church, 501 West Broadway, Paterson, NJ. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Paterson. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN in Antonio's memory would be greatly appreciated.
