WATERTOWN Antonio Guerrera"The Nail" "When I work, I'm on vacation" Antonio Guerrera, age 95, of Watertown, entered into earthly rest on Tuesday, June 21, 2022. He was the beloved husband of the late Patricia (Guerrera) Guerrera, who predeceased him on January 10, 2016. Antonio was born in Pontelandolfo, Benevento, Italy, on February 23, 1927. He was the son of the late Rocco and Angela Maria (Guerrera) Guerrera. He emigrated to the United States with his mother, sister, and brother in June of 1947. Antonio was retired from the (former) Farrell Foundry, where he had worked for thirty-five years. He was also self-employed as a gardener/landscaper, a job which he performed with pride. His work was meticulous, and he was considered a faithful, trustworthy, and responsible worker. He continued with this work after his retirement from the Farrell Foundry. His hobbies included playing bocci, watching the N. Y. Yankees, and traveling. He and his wife spent their winter months at their condo in Florida. Antonio is survived by his daughters, Cynthia Daddona and her husband, Michael of Morris, and Linda A. Polletta and her husband, Giuseppe, of Watertown. He also leaves his grandchildren, Diana Dane and her husband, Michael, Maria Guerrera and her husband, Robert and State Representative Joseph Polletta, his great grandchildren, Michael, Joseph and Juliana Dane, Francesca and Marcella Guerrera. His siblings, Nicolina Guerrera and her husband, the late Pasquale, both of Watertown, and Joseph Guerrera and his wife, Margaret of Oakville, also survive him, as well as his brother-in-law, Francis Guerrera and his wife Vittoria of Oakville. Other survivors include nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Shaquanna and Sandra, Antonio's live-in caregivers, as well as Cassie, his former care-giver, for the exceptional and compassionate care they provided to him. Because of them, Antonio was able to live his final years in the comfort of his home. Thanks are also due to Michelle Spagnoletti and Shelley Guerrera, for their professional expertise and support to Antonio and his family. Finally, thanks to family and friends who visited Antonio, included him in various social gatherings, and inquired often of his well-being. Such kindness will never be forgotten. Arrangements: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 25, 2022, 9:30 a. m. at St. Mary Magdalen Church in Oakville. Everyone is kindly asked to meet directly at the church Saturday morning. Entombment will follow at the Mt. Olivet Mausoleum in Watertown. Calling hours will be held Friday evening from 5:00 - 7:00 p. m. at Chase Parkway Memorial, The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, CT.
