Marion Hall EverageOn Tuesday, November 21, 2023, God said it was time. Mrs. Marion Hall Everage walked into eternity with Jesus. Born on March 27, 1936, she was affectionately known as Mrs. Marion. She was the youngest child of Mitchell and Annie Hall Sr. Her parents, brothers--Mitchell and Harold Jr. and sister Aline Hall Lewis, along with her grandson, Sebastian preceded her in death. In 1953, Marion married her lifelong sweetheart, Lawrence Everage Sr. , who preceded her in death in 2012. From this blessed and loving union which lasted 58 years a wonderful legacy was established. This legacy consists of 9 children, 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren, all of whom were blessed to experience Mrs. Marion's love and nurturing. She was extremely passionate about her love for and belief in family, which was demonstrated by her being a fierce advocate for each of her children. However, nothing brought her greater joy than seeing her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Always a loving and caring person, becoming a grandmother and great grandmother catapulted her love to heights rarely achieved by others. Her love for her family was only second to her immense love for Christ. Mrs. Marion, who accepted Christ at an early age, loved to worship and was a woman of prayer and devotion. She was a lifelong member of Second New Light Baptist Church where she served as president of the Deaconess Board and supported her church in any way she could. Mrs. Marion attended Tommy Lafon Middle School and Walter L. Cohen High School. After retiring from F. W. Woolworth, Mrs. Marion attended the New Orleans Council on Aging CNA program where she received her Certified Nursing Assistant certificate. She worked as a CNA for 11 years before retiring a second time. "Big" Marion, Auntie Marion, or Mama enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved to cook, laugh, and oh how she loved to dance. She never met a stranger, and everyone enjoyed being in her presence. As the last matriarch of her generation, Marion will be greatly missed. Cherishing her memory are her children: Linda (Thurman), Deborah, Wanda, Lawrence Jr. (Monica), and Janice of New Orleans; Lorraine, Russell (Robinette), Phyllis, and Renee (Santana) of Dallas, TX; granddaughters Leticheau "Teedy" (Warren), Nicole (Arnold), Mia (Andre), Myra, Lawanna, Madison, Milan, and Mason; grandsons Lawrence III, Philip, Isiah (Rainey), Lonnie and a host of great-grandkids, great- great grandkids, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
