Antigoni Tsipas Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Antigoni (Ann) Tsipas (nee: Verdis), announce her passing on April 21, 2023 at the age of 91. Born in Albania, she lived in Nutley for 15 years prior to moving to Bloomfield, over 30 years ago. She enjoyed spending time with all her family. She was a wonderful cook and had the best Greek recipes. All the family loved her cooking. Antigoni was predeceased by Nicholas, her beloved husband of 65 years of marriage. He passed away in July of 2017. She was a wonderful mother of three children, Ellie Ritchie, and her husband Thomas (Bloomfield), Martha Marshall and her husband Frank (Bloomfield) and Michael Tsipas and his wife Jayne (Scotch Plains). Additionally, Antigoni (known as Yiayia) was adored by her seven grandchildren & 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters and two brothers. Friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, April 25th from 4:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. at Levandoski-Grillo Funeral Home, 44 Bay Avenue, Bloomfield, NJ. A Prayer Service will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday morning at 11:00 a. m. Graveside Services will follow at Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield.
