Jack M. Hartnell, a revered family man and esteemed professional, passed away on December 3, 2023, at the age of 81. Born on September 18, 1942, Jack's journey was marked by a steadfast commitment to his family, a passion for education, and a successful career that touched the lives of many. Jack's legacy is carried on by his loving wife, Bonnie L Hartnell, with whom he shared a life full of love and mutual support. He was a guiding light to his children, Jack S. Hartnell (Cindy Sherrill) and Jill Whetstone (Alan Whetstone). His joy was multiplied by the birth of his grandsons, Cameron and Theodore Whetstone. Jack was preceded in death by his parents Jack William and Louise Hartnell, and his brother Jeffry Hartnell, all of whom had a profound influence on his life. An alumnus of Michigan State University, Jack earned his degree in Business and Psychology in 1964 and was a proud member of Alpha Sigma Phi. His professional journey began at Proctor & Gamble, where he served as a Sales/Marketing manager from 1964-1981. His entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly when he became a financial planner in 1981, and in 1988 he took a bold step to start his own financial planning business, Professional Planning Consultant Services. Jack dedicated himself to this venture until his final days, leaving a legacy of integrity and excellence in the financial planning industry. Jack's influence and guidance were invaluable to his clients and colleagues. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jack was a man of diverse interests. He found solace in woodworking and model ship building, took pride in having a shiny car, and relished the challenge of a good golf game. His happiest moments were often found with Bonnie while walking the beach on Hilton Head Island or during their many travels. He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and he co-founded the Blue Blazer Club (BBC), where his leadership and camaraderie were cherished. Jack touched many lives through his work, his passions, and his unwavering commitment to his family and friends. His memory will be treasured, and his presence sorely missed, but the impact of his life's work will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. As we bid farewell to Jack, we celebrate a life well-lived -- a life filled with purpose, joy, and an enduring legacy that will continue to inspire generations to come. Charles H. Howarth, passed away peacefully at the age of 95 on December 4th, 2023. Born in Grindstone, Pennsylvania, on November 28th, 1928, Charles was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, as well as a respected US Steel retiree and a proud US Army veteran of the Korean War Era. Charles's life was marked by dedication and service, both to his country and his local community. After bravely serving during a pivotal time in history, he returned home to build a life and family while working for US Steel. His tenure there spanned an impressive 38 years, where he was not only a loyal employee but also a pillar of strength and dependability to his colleagues. Marsha Howarth, Charles's loving wife, was his cherished companion. They built a life together, marked by lasting love and mutual respect. He is survived by his devoted sons, Ronald Howarth and his wife Pamela, Brian Howarth and his wife Tina, and he was preceded in death by his first wife Emily and his son Mark Howarth. Charles's legacy continues through his grandchildren--Sarah Howarth-Dice and her husband Zachary, Daniel Howarth and his wife Emily, and Blair Howarth. His joy was made all the more profound by the laughter and love of his great-grandchildren, Marielle, Sadie, and Theo Howarth. Charles was the son of the late Fred and Georgia Howarth and was the last surviving sibling, preceded by Elizabeth, Leona, William, Thomas, and Fred. Each family member left an indelible mark on his life, and his memory will forever be treasured by those who knew him as the family's steadfast foundation. As a member of the Masons, Charles found fraternal brotherhood and community service opportunities that reflected his values. He lived his faith actively, contributing his time and talents as a longtime Elder and Treasurer at the Grindstone Christian Church. Charles's leadership and generosity played a significant role in the church's growth and the nurturing of its congregation. An adventurous spirit coupled with a love for the world's vast beauty, Charles nurtured a passion for travel, exploring the globe and experiencing various cultures and places. In every venture, he found joy and learning, which he eagerly shared with others. Above all, Charles H. Howarth will be remembered as a man of honor, kindness, and integrity. He made an indelible impact not only on his family but also on the broader community through his dedicated service and compassionate spirit. The lives he touched and the love he shared will resonate as a testament to a life well-lived and a man deeply loved. Born on December 21, 1955, in Pittsburgh, PA, Sue was full of love and kindness throughout her 67 years of life. Sue was predeceased by her beloved husband, Francis P. Cutrone, and her parents, Joseph and Dorothy Tranter. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her children, Paula and Pat Mooney, Christina and Chuck Piotrowski, and Tony Cutrone and Pam McKittrick. Sue was a proud grandmother to Kim, Samantha, Codie, Stevie, Hailey, Chuckie, Adriana, and Angelo, and a great-grandmother to Jaxxon and Vada. She is also survived by her siblings, Ronald, Cathy, Carol, and Joe, who will miss her presence dearly. Her spirit was evident in her love for her family, her dogs, her plants, and close friends which were her greatest joys. Gary L. Kaintz, age 83, of Hampton Township, passed away unexpectedly, on Saturday, December 2, 2023. Born March 16, 1940 in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Louis and Ann (Malinski) Kaintz. He is survived by his wife, Linda (Veydt) Kaintz; daughter, Christie Hagerty and her husband, Mike; son Ryan Kaintz and his wife, Melissa, all of Hampton Township; grandchildren, Gracie, Henry and Jack; sister, Joyce Highland, of Vero Beach, Florida. Gary served in the military as an Army paratrooper, demonstrating his bravery and dedication to his country. After his military service, he pursued a successful career as an engineer with Papercraft Corporation. Gary was known for his exceptional skills and commitment to his work. Outside of his professional life, Gary had a passion for drag racing and riding motorcycles. He loved the thrill and excitement that these hobbies brought him. Gary's family will welcome friends from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p. m. on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at King Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. , 2841 Woodland Circle in Allison Park. Margaret "Margie" Ann (Mendel) Hager, North Strabane Margie A. Hager was born on October 23, 1951 in Pittsburgh, PA. She passed away peacefully on 12/03/2023 after a very sudden decline in her health. She was only 72 years old. Margie graduated from South Hills High School in 1969 and received her bachelor's degree from Point Park College in Pittsburgh, PA. She married her loving husband, Bruce L Hager in December of 1972 and they had 3 children. Margie was a home-maker for the majority of her life and after raising her own children went on to help raise her grandchildren as well. Margie was an active member of the book reading and publishing community and dedicated much of her time to helping her author friends and making raffle baskets to help raise funds for various charities. She also was an active supporter of various veteran related and animal related charities. Margie loved to travel and spend time with her grand-daughters. Margie was predeceased by her parents, Joseph Mendel and Edith (Bagnull) Mendel, and her brother, John "Jack" Mendel. In addition to her husband, Margie is survived by her daughter Allison (Hager) Morgan and her husband, Dennis Morgan, her daughter, Melissa Hager, son, Vincent Hager and his wife Stefanie Hager, 3 beautiful grand-daughters, Madison Morgan, Alaina Morgan and Makenzie Morgan as well as her sister Elaine (Mendel) Koch and her husband George Koch, her sister-in-law, Janet Mendel and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
