Sidney Miles Mixon, Jr., 62, of Orangeburg passed away on Thursday, February 29, 2024. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel, 1012 Whitman Street, Orangeburg. Burial will follow at Myers Family Cemetery in the Canaan Community. Rev. Alan Woodward will be officiating. Sidney was born on November 28, 1961, in Norfolk, VA. He was the son of the late Sidney M. Mixon and the late Mary Myers Dunning. Sidney had a love of music and a heart for Jesus. His smile would light up any room. He had a love for life that was contagious. He will live on in the heart of his family and friends. Survivors include his sisters, Patricia Rowland (Dale) of Charleston, Sandra Craven of Summerville; brothers, Ernie L. Mixon of Moncks Corner, Jeff Mixon (Paige) of Orangeburg, Kenneth Mixon of Orangeburg, Michael Mixon (Debbie) of Harleyville; nieces and nephews, Sharon Mersereau, Will Mersereau (Whitney), Brittany Warncke (Eric), Candice Boylan, Nick Craven (Kendall), David Mixon, Ricky Mixon, Robert Mixon, Tiffany Mixon, Jeffrey Mixon, Jr. (Wren), Kelley Stiles (Ben), Loribeth Craven (Jordan), Claire Craven (Mae), Kinard Craven, Chelsea Mixon, Jason Herron, Zachary Mixon and a number of great-nieces, great-nephews and additional friends. Anthony “David” Williams, 52, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024. He was born in Orangeburg, S.C. to William “Jimbo” Williams and the late Sheila Duncan Williams. He was a 1990 graduate of Orangeburg Wilkinson High School. David was employed for the last 29 years with the SI Group in Orangeburg as a chemical boiler operator. He was the definition of a true outdoorsman. From fishing and hunting to fixing trucks and dirt bikes, he could do it all. He was definitely “a jack of all trades.” David was a devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend. He will forever remain in the hearts of those that knew him and loved him. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 30 years, Wendy Robinson Williams of the home; sons, Laine Williams of Cope, Hunter Williams of Manning; father, William “Jimbo” Williams of Orangeburg; brother, Jamie Williams (Marie) of Orangeburg; sister, Renee McElvaney of Knoxville, TN; mother and father in-law, Edward and Loretta Robinson; sister-in-law, Kristy Antley of Taylorsville, N.C.; his fur baby “River”; a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, special friends and friends from Lands End, Beaufort. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Canaan Baptist Church, 4977 Cannon Bridge Road, Cope. Rev. Alan Woodward will be officiating. Mrs. Doris Lewis Irick, 89, widow of Elton “Nook” Irick, Sr., passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2024. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Monday, February 26, 2024, at St. George Baptist Church, 2590 Shillings Bridge Rd, Orangeburg. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Pastor Terry Wilder will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 P.M. on Monday, February 26, 2024, prior to the funeral service. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Ray Lewis, Ernie Hughes, Harold Hughes and Ralph Marcano. Mrs. Irick was born on November 20, 1934, in Bamberg County. She was the daughter of the late Ernest Lewis and the late Retha Hewitt Lewis. She was the owner and operator of Shuler’s Crop Insurance until her retirement. Mrs. Irick was a faithful member of St. George Baptist Church until her health failed. She served as the church librarian for many years. After her retirement she had many, hobbies including sewing, traveling with the church and going on day trips to the Riverbanks Zoo. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sons, Elton Norman Irick, Jr., Kenneth Irick, brothers, Carl Lewis, Dan Lewis, Bob Lewis, Tom Lewis, Rufus Lewis, sister, Johnnie Rodrigue, grandchildren, Preston Jennings, Jorgia Kemmerlin, sisters-in-law, Angie Lewis and Barbara Lewis.
