Gary L. LaMar, age 77, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 3, 2024, surrounded by family and friends. Born on November 27, 1946, Gary was the youngest son of the late Kenneth and Amanda LaMar of Jamestown, NY. He was a 1966 graduate of Jamestown High School. Prior to his retirement, Gary was employed at Adenlock, Hills Department Store, and various other places. Besides his parents, Gary is preceded in death by his siblings, Connie, Joan, Sally, and Dale. Surviving him is his partner in life, Martha Trumbull of Jamestown, NY, his six children, Seann LaMar of Minden, NV, Jamie (Audrey) LaMar of Savannah, GA, Heather (Fred) Delcamp of Brocton, NY, Kevin LaMar of Jamestown, NY, Patrick (Crystal) LaMar of Jamestown, NY and Marshanne (Marc Keller) Friend of Erie, PA. He also leaves behind several grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff at Heritage Park for their love, support, care, and compassion during Gary’s last days. At the family’s request, funeral services and visitation will not be observed. A Celebration of Life Luncheon will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at the Den Adlesman’s Klub (3411 Salisbury Road, Gerry, New York 14740) from 12:30 pm-3:30 pm. Joyce M. Lindstrom, 88, of Jamestown, passed away Wednesday February 28, 2024, in her home surrounded by her family. She was born February 17, 1936, in Jamestown, NY, the daughter of the late Elmer and Dorothy Vincent Mathews. Joyce enjoyed spending time with her family and loved quilting. Surviving is her daughter Susan (Lee) Fuller of Jamestown; her two grandsons: Brian (Erica) Scott, J.L. Scott, and great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Lindstrom, her daughter Karen Lindstrom, and her grandson Andrew Fuller. Per Joyce's request, no funeral service is planned at this time.

Howard O. Bush, Jr., 78, of 75 Livingston Avenue, died Tuesday February 27, 2024, in his home. He was born October 6, 1945, in Jamestown, a son of the late Howard and Michaelina “Mickey” Piccirilli Bush, Sr. He was a graduate of Jamestown High School. Prior to his retirement he was employed by Hopes Windows as a draftsman for many years. Howard enjoyed socializing at various clubs including Celoron Fish Club and Celoron Moose Lodge, bowling, golfing, and playing cards. He played softball in a league and coached Babe Ruth Baseball for several years. He was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings and New York Yankees. Surviving is his former wife and good friend Lyn Spencer; children Renee Anderson and Howard Bush III; grandchildren Jennifer (Spencer) Shirley, Amanda (Malcolm) Shevlin, Angela Anderson (Rich), Miranda Bush (Jordan), Patricia Bush (Ryan), and Howard Bush IV; brothers Jeff Bush (Ellen) and Glenn Bush and sisters Sheila Neuman and Debbie Gruber; and several great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and his close friends Ed and Elaine Wolfe. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter Christina Bush; brother Doug Bush; sisters Donna Scholl and Marcia Bush and nephew Donnie Scholl. Eugene F. Ford Jamestown, NY Eugene F. Ford, recently of the Resource Center, and formerly of Olean, passed away peacefully Wednesday (February 28, 2024) at UPMC Chautauqua in Jamestown. Born August 8, 1943 in the Village of Warsaw, he was the son of Gordon Eban and Loretta Julia Etta Anderson Ford. Gene was raised under institutional care in the Newark State School and later the J&N Adam Developmental Center in Perrysburg. He was in and out of their care but also spent some time living with his father, and also in private homes. He was fortunate to have come to live with the Gary and Elizabeth Williams family in Olean for 10 years where he became like a member of their family. While in Olean, he worked full time for many years for SubCon Industries, a job he truly loved before retiring into the DayHab program both at Intandem and The Resource Center. When Gene needed more long-term care, he lived at Intandem’s group housing. Shortly after the Williams family moved to Jamestown, he too moved there and had been cared for since February of 2018. by The Resource Center, as well as remaining an integral part of the Williams’ lives by joining them at least twice weekly for dinner and special occasions. All who knew Gene experienced his spunky personality, how he loved being taken to weekly mass, and of course watching the Buffalo Bills games on TV. He enjoyed listening to music and playing records, dancing, and being part of the fun on any occasion. He also loved the holidays, being outside, and watching movies. Gene was loved by the staff at both Intandem and the Resource Center who provided him with care, love, and entertainment, especially Sarah Forney, Sandy Crandall, and Ashley Emke. He loved Gary and Elizabeth, and felt like family to them, especially their children and many grandchildren to whom he brought much joy. He leaves behind a sister, Mary Ford of Jamestown; his “family” at Intandem and The Resource Center, and the Williams family. He was predeceased by his parents, and his friend Liz Williams. Friends will be received on Tuesday (March 5, 2024) from noon to 1pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd., Olean. A funeral service will begin at 1pm in the funeral home. Rev. Peter Bassey, of the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels, will officiate. Burial will be next to his father in Mt. Prospect Cemetery in Franklinville. Beverly A. Becker, 91, of Brookdale, formally of Sampson Street, Jamestown, died Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at UPMC Chautauqua. An area resident all her life, she was born January 10, 1933, in Jamestown, the daughter of Harold and Margaret Larson Lindsay. She was a 1951 graduate of Frewsburg High School. Prior to her retirement she was a long-time sales associate at Sears and earlier had worked for the Empire State Mutual Life Insurance Company. She was a former member of the Lakewood Rod and Gun and the American Legion Auxiliary. In her younger years, Beverly enjoyed golfing, bowling, visiting casinos and traveling with family and friends. She also could always be found on the dance floor whenever there was music to dance to. She looked forward to her Manhattans and was an avid fan of the NY Yankees. She is survived by her daughter Cindy Bolling of Jamestown and her son Bill (Mary Jo) Becker of Concord, NC, her 6 grandchildren Chris (Renee) Becker, Ryan (Lauren) Becker, Meghan (Chad) Murray, Kaitlin (Paul) Coleman, Andrew Becker, Jeremy Becker, her 4 great-grandchildren Tommy and PJ Becker, Kendyl and Declan Murray, and her brother James Lindsay of Arizona. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Frank L. Becker whom she married July 6, 1951, and who died July 16, 1996, her son Jeff Becker and his wife Wendy, and her son-in-law Ray Bolling. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Ivory Cemetery. No visitation will be observed. Memorials may be made to a charity of choice. Cheryl Anne Warrior, 63, of 216 Hazzard Street, died Sunday February 25, 2024, in her home. She was born October 7, 1960, in Jamestown, a daughter of the late Robert Pavlock and Drucilla Peterson Pavlock Putnam Moore. She attended Jamestown and Bemus Point Schools and later graduated from Jamestown Community College. She was a member of the Young Marines and Moose Lodge. She enjoyed cooking and playing bingo, but more than anything she loved time spent with family, especially her grandchildren. Surviving is her husband Timothy E. Warrior, Sr., whom she married September 7, 1979; seven children Sondra Pavlock, Timothy Warrior, Jr., Alyce Warrior, Amanda Vega, Joshua Warrior, Jeremiah Warrior and Carolanne (Cory) Cardone; twenty-one grandchildren; two siblings Michael Pavlock and Denise Doonan and an uncle, Martin Pavlock. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Diane Pavlock. The funeral will be held at noon Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, Florence Muha, went home to be with the angels on Feb. 25, 2024 with her family by her side. Florence grew up in Floyd, NY and graduated from Oriskany High School. Family was everything to Florence. She married the love of her life, David Muha, in 1976 in Boonville. They cherished their time together and the life they built together. They enjoyed traveling and ended up in TN after they retired, which she truly enjoyed. For a number of years, she worked a number of different jobs for the DDSO, retiring in 2012. She was close to her siblings; Phylis, Linda, Michele, Mike, Nick, and Priscilla, as well as their families. Florence is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, David; Son, Doug Shaffer and wife Brenda; their children, Dalton and MacKenzie Shaffer; Daughter, Andrea Battles and husband Mike; their children, Samantha Gilbert, Andrew Gilbert, and Kendra Battles. Great-Grandson, Waylon Gilbert; Son, Mike Muha and wife Sonya; their son Nicolas. Daughter, Cheryl Young; her children Michael, Ethan, Keltsey, and Mason. Florence was preceded in death by her grandson, Stephan Young. She had a special place in her heart for Vinnie and Amanda Gilbert. The Mundy Funeral Home in Jamestown is in charge of arrangements.

In earlier years she was an active PTA member for CC Ring Elementary, Washington Junior High School (life member) and Jamestown High School. She had served as President of Jamestown City Council PTA.Jeannette will be a remembered as a dedicated housewife, caregiver to many children and foster children, always ready to help someone in need including family.Jeannette was also a member of the former Buffalo St. United Methodist Church for 45 years and served as a Sunday School Teacher, Superintendent of Sunday School, and member of the churches choir for 25 years. She had served on various church boards until Buffalo St. joined with New Beginnings Fellowship.Surviving is her husband James R. Perry whom she married January 21, 1956 in Jamestown; two daughters: Melania L. Brooks of Spotsylvania, VA, Dennett Carpenter of Jamestown; three grandchildren: Michael K. (Jennifer) Brooks, Marie Carpenter Johnston (Steve), Melissa Carpenter Colburn (Jesse); five great grandchildren: Lillian Brooks, Tessa Brooks, Zander Colburn, Samuel Johston, Nicholas Johnston; two step great grandchildren: Olivia Booth and Jacob Booth; three nieces: Jeanne Johnson, Judi Eaton, Katharine Vezine; many great nieces and nephewsBesides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Harold R. Bull Jr. and a grandson Conner Brooks, two nephews Michael and Mark Bull.The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 29, 2024 in the Falconer Funeral Home. Rev. Roy Miller will officiate. After graduating from Jamestown High School Jesse worked in the security field. He enjoyed country music and everything outdoors. He loved to spend time with his boys hunting, fishing and camping. He will be deeply missed. Jesse is survived by his children, Eric McKeown and Taydin Hallowell, his mother, Tina Morgan, his brother, Dan Hallowell, his niece and nephew, Gracelynn and Dale Hallowell, his uncle Denny (Sharon) Morgan and close family friend, Angelo Brattoli.
