Anna Marie Gainey, 61, of High Point, NC, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2022, at her home. Anna Marie was born on February 18, 1961 in High Point, NC, to the now late James Henry Gainey Sr. and the late Frances Davis Gainey. Anna Marie worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant throughout her life providing home health care and respite services. She devoted countless hours of volunteer service throughout the community and as a faithful Baldwin Chapel SDA church member. Anna Marie graduated from T. Wingate Andrews High School, in the class of 1979. She studied Human & Health Services at High Point University then obtained her nursing assistant certification from Guilford Technical Community College. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Barbra Mae Gainey; nephew, Brandon Gainey; half-sister, Margaret Rogers; and brother-in-law, Ronald F. Morton. She is survived by her two daughters, Naykemma Gainey and Jaquana Gainey-Kennely (Roger); brothers, James H. Gainey Jr. (Fiance, Diane Talley), Jesse L. Gainey Sr. (Rose); sisters, Shelba Morton, Linda Horne (Mark), Delores Harp (Grady); grandchildren, Jyquon Gainey (Morgan), Kingston Gainey, Roxanna Strange, Greg Kennely, Beverly Strange, Fire Gainey; and a host of nieces and nephews that loved her dearly. A service in loving memory will be held at 3:00 pm, Monday, January 2nd at Baldwin's Chapel Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1202 Leonard Ave, High Point, NC. The family repast will follow shortly after the memorial service at the Rosetta C. Baldwin Educational Center building next to the church.
