PHARO, LAWRENCE “LARRY” RICHARD, Larry was born December 18, 1939 at home in Tuckerton, then becoming a resident of Whiting for 52 years. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving from 1960-1964. After the Navy, he worked at the Tuckerton Beacon newspaper, until he joined the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department. He worked in the Sheriff’s Department from 1963 until he retired in 1993. His hobbies were Federal Bird Banding (Ornithologist). During his time as an ornithologist he banded 60,000 birds, both wild and water fowl. He also enjoyed building and flying remote controlled aircraft. He was a member of “Pinebarren Modelers” club. Larry was predeceased by his parents Robert F. Pharo (Bub), and Dorothy Pharo, also his step-mother Laurie Pharo, brother Robert and his granddaughter Juliana Baker. He is survived by his partner/fiancée of 41 years, Ruthann Deegan, 2 daughters, Barbara and Lynda, 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 21, 2024, from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. A Service will be Thursday, February 22, 2024, at 10 AM, all at WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 134 EAST MAIN ST., TUCKERTON, N.J. Harvey McNamara born June 17, 1934 in Bronx, NY. Harvey was a tank operator for the Army National Guard. Harvey worked for Continental Folding Box Company, as a print setter until the plant closed. Eventually he started a 15 year career with Johnson and Johnson of North Brunswick where he rose from production line worker to a high level supervisor. Harvey was head usher at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton RC Church and worked with autistic kids as a member of the Knights of Columbus in Pinehurst, North Carolina. He is predeceased by his wife of 69 years Helen, his brother Allan McNamara and his half-brother Kerry Barr. He is survived by his sons; Wayne, Steven, John and Matthew, his 7 seven grandchildren, Monica, Jessica, Lauren, Dana, Matthew, Jr., Cole, and Michael and his 4 great grandchildren, Rene, Alania, Aaron, and Chastity.Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, February 16, 2024 from 1:00PM to 3:00PM at the Carmona-Bolen Home for Funerals, 66 Lacey Road, Whiting, NJ. Robert B. “Bob” Tilghman, Sr., age 88, longtime resident of Whiting, formerly of New Egypt, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at AristaCare at Whiting in Manchester, Twp. He was born on July 7, 1935 in Allentown, NJ to the late Clarence and Beatrice (nee Bell) Tilghman. Bob was a foreman for Millstone Township Public Works. He was also a foreman at Challender Fuel & Oil and Meenan Oil both in New Egypt. Bob was a member of the New Egypt Elks Lodge #2457, where he was the first exalted ruler. He enjoyed going hunting and taking trips to Atlantic City. Bob was a father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend that will be deeply missed. Bob is predeceased by his beloved wife Diane (nee Young) Tilghman; his parents, Clarence and Bea Tilghman; and his brother Kenneth Tilghman. He leaves behind his three children, Robert Jr. Tilghman and wife Judy of Whiting, Theresa Tilghman of Trenton, and Pamela Tilghman of Atlantic City; three grandchildren, Stacey, Tanya, and Helaina; four great-grandchildren, Faith, Aiden, Jase, and Colton; and his two siblings, Ronald Tilghman and wife Patty of New Egypt, ad Carol Hearne and husband Gil of New Egypt; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service for Bob on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 11 AM at Tilghman Funeral Home located at 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533 with burial to follow at Bordentown Cemetery located at 210 Crosswicks Road, Bordentown, NJ 08505. Margaret Mary Scancerella “Marie” (nee Browne), 85 of Whiting since 2002 and prior of East Rutherford, passed away on February 10, 2024. She was born in Dublin, Ireland and immigrated to the U.S.A. at the age of 21. Prior to retiring in 2002, she was a lunch aide in the East Rutherford school district, lastly in Faust School. Marie was proud of her Irish heritage and she enjoyed listening to Irish music. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Beloved wife of the late Natalo “Neil” Scancerella. Loving mother of Denise Burke and her husband Brian and Neil Scancerella and his wife Denise. Cherished grandmother of Neil Scancerella and his girlfriend Sam and Kyle Scancerella and his wife Morganne. Dear sister of Christopher “Christy” Browne, Patrick “Paddy” Browne and his wife Maura and the late Angela Wall. Caring sister-in-law of Jewell Koop and the late Peggy Browne, Vivi Wall and Richard Koop. She also leaves behind loving cousins, nieces and nephews. Whiting - Angelo A. Renna passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was 89. Born in Picerno, Italy, he immigrated to the United States in 1949 and resided in Elizabeth. He later lived in the Holiday City community of Berkeley and settled in Whiting in 2008. Prior to retiring, he was a labor mason in Elizabeth and worked through a union until 1974. Angelo had a passion for antiques and collectibles. He also enjoyed furniture restoration and filled his home with the works of art he created. Angelo enjoyed music, singing, and dancing. As a young man, he received formal training from a Julliard voice coach and could be heard singing through the neighborhood. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 48 years, Concetta; by his son, Salvatore; and by his daughter-in-law, Patricia. Surviving are his sons: Gerard and his wife JoAnn, and Anthony; five grandchildren: Terry, Christopher, Salvatore (Sarah Ann), Vincent (Deneane), and Dominick (Joelle); and his great-grandchildren: Harper, Charleston Rose, and Rylee Marie. Angelo instilled an incredible work ethic into his entire family and will continue to live on through each of them. A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024 from 2-4 & 7-9PM at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024 at 9AM. Margaret Clara Foote (nee Carlson), passed away peacefully on February 10, 2024 in Whiting, NJ at the age of 95. Margaret was a loving wife, daughter, mother, grandmother and friend. She was devoted to her family and led a life of service and faith. Born on October 22, 1928 in Kearny, NJ, Margaret was a faithful member of the Salvation Army throughout her entire life. She actively participated in various programs, including the Home League, Songsters and Sunbeams. Margaret’s hands were always busy as she expertly knitted baby clothes, prayer shawls and lap robes. She also delighted many with her delicious cookies, breads and pies. Margaret is survived by her daughter Beverly Seiler and her husband Richard, along with their children Richard Seiler II and Erica Molocknick, who is married to Chad. Her son Allan Foote and his wife Dena, along with their children Nicole Morgan, who is married to Jeff, and Brianna Foote. Her daughter Carol Phelps and her husband Mark, along with their children Megan Miele, who is married to Kevin, and Alexander Phelps. Margaret is also survived by her son George Foote and his wife Donna, along with their children Kristen Colabella, who is married to Michael, Leeann Kelly, who is married to Brendan, Daniel Foote, and Lauren Foote. Additionally, Margaret leaves behind three great-grandchildren, Damien Seiler, Bethany Seiler, Jacob Morgan, and one on the way, as well as many nieces and nephews. Margaret was preceded in death by her loving husband George, her parents Mary and David Carlson, her brother David Carlson, and by many other relatives. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Margaret at the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Dr. Kearny on Wednesday February 14 from 4-8 PM. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Arlington Cemetery in Kearny. Corinne Kernes Carpenter Minch went peacefully and with full assurance to meet her Lord and Savior from her home in Pines Village, Whiting, NJ on February 8, at the age of 101.Born August 28,1922, Novinger, MO, to James Edward and Katie (Findling) Kernes,she was preceded in death by her parents and nine siblings; husband Walter E Carpenter, April 2000; husband Leonard Minch, October 2015; sister Dovie Kerns Giese, Feb 7, 2022 (also at 101). Survived by her nephew, Dennis Sansiveri, niece Gail Sansiveri and great-nephew, Anthony of Waxhaw, NC, and a number of close and loving friends. Corinne will be remembered as a loving wife, determined student, educator, master gardener and true friend.Married for 39 years to Walter E Carpenter, engineer with Westinghouse Bloomfield and Wagner Electric, Newark, NJ, they resided in Cedar Grove, NJ until their retirements in 1982, then moved to Village 6, Whiting, NJ for 18 years until Walter’s death. In 2005 Corinne married Leonard Minch and in 2007 they moved into The Pines at Whiting (now Pines Village).Forced to leave school early in life, she later earned her high school GED in 1952; Bachelor of Science (Applied Health) at Montclair State University,1980. Taught Dental Hygiene for 16 years at Essex County Vocational School. He worked as a tool and die maker for 40 years at Republic Mold & Tool in Linden before retiring in 2003. Eugene was a member & soccer coach of Union County Sports Club. He was an avid poker player, and enjoyed soccer, fishing, and collecting stamps and coins. Surviving is his wife of 54 years, Celina Kusznier, sons, Eric & wife Gwen and Christopher Kusznier & wife Ania, daughter, Tania Halmos & husband Paul, sister, Janina Skorochod, and 5 grandchildren, Megan, Tyler, Jacob, Madison, and Victoria. Visitation is Sunday February 11, 2024 from 4-7 PM at Oliverie Funeral Home 2925 Ridgeway Road, Manchester. She is survived by her daughter Kathy and husband Rick Coots, daughter Susan Firman and Patrick Harrison, grandson Jesse and wife Maria, grandson Brian and fiancé Christy, great-granddaughter Rachel Pre deceased by husband William Kinmond her brothers Frank, Paul Sisters Anna, Ruth, Millie Also survived by her nieces and nephews, wonderful friends She was a devoted friend and member of the Community Church in Whiting NJ Martha graduated Westwood high school and then worked in NYC and NJ as a secretary. She retired from Sears Credit offices in Maywood NJ. She then moved to Forked River and Whiting NJ where she had many family parties and celebrations. She did some traveling and always liked to have a good time. Loved her family, friends, music, and cooking. Dolores D. Danzer (Sealander), 95, passed away peacefully at Crestwood Manor Healthcare in Whiting NJ on Wednesday, January 24, 2024. Born in West New York, NJ, she lived in Tenafly, NJ before settling in the Ocean County area in 1980.Dolores was a Travel Agent for Packard’s in Hackensack, NJ, as well as the agency offices of Bob Grimm in Toms River, NJ. She was able to travel around the world, visiting numerous wonders, her favorite of which being Ireland. She was a parishioner of St. Luke’s RC Church in Toms River and enjoyed singing in the church choir. Dolores had a deep love of nature and animals, with a special connection to birds.She is reunited in Heaven with her first husband Edgar Kern, her second husband Arthur Danzer, her parents Clarence and Julia (Getek) Sealander, and her brother John Sealander.Dolores will be forever held in the hearts of her loving family; her daughter Jeanne Liburdi and her husband Peter Tamburro, grandson Rick and his wife Michelle Liburdi, granddaughter Miranda Liburdi, and great granddaughter Willow Liburdi, all of whom affectionately knew her as Nanny.The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, January 29, 2024, from 10am to 12pm at the Carmona Bolen Home for Funerals, 412 Main St., Toms River, NJ.
