Ann Perkins (Underwood), 82, of Modesto, California formerly of Kansas City, KS passed away peacefully on Saturday, Sept. 30th, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, Oct. 13, 2023, at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Cochran officiating. Burial will follow in the Alderson Cemetery, Good Intent, KS. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alderson Cemetery and may be sent in care of the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, 800 Kansas Ave, Atchison, KS. Condolences and remembrances to the family may be left online at www. beckerdyer. com. Ann was born on July 3, 1941, in Atchison, KS, the daughter of Spencer and Harriette (Hawk) Underwood. She graduated from the Wyandotte High School Class of 1959. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Modesto, CA. Ann loved God, her country and family. Her greatest joy in life was her family and friends. She was married to Donald L. Perkins on July 4, 1984, in San Jose, CA. He preceded her in death on June 9, 2009. Her parents, husband, sister Jane Eppes, brother-in-law, Keith Eppes, brother JC Underwood, sister-in-law Terri Price and Mother-in law Patt Perkins also preceded her in death. Ann is survived by her loving daughter Kandi (Ken) Presson, of Stockton, CA, her loving son Kenneth Allen, Modesto, CA her loveable grandchildren include Kevin (Rachel) Allen, Stockton, CA, Jennifer (Jake) Fontana, Redding, CA, K. C (Shelby) Allen, Buckeye, AZ, Jenny (Curnell) Thomas, Orangevale CA, Also are included are her precious great grandchildren Karionna Allen, Jacob Allen, Randall Allen, Robert Allen Aaliyah Thomas, Jesse Roehl and Godson Oliver Bignelli, her brother Perry (Josie) Underwood, Sister-in-law Doris Jo, brother-in-law Tom (Cathy) Perkins, and many nieces and nephews who will remember "Auntie" with her many cards and $2. 00 bills. A Celebration of Life service will be held in California at a later date, which will be announced.

Notably, he founded and led two successful consulting businesses, NMP (National Micro Products) and KJD Services, showcasing his entrepreneurial acumen. His work transcended geographical boundaries, leading him to conduct commercial engineering endeavors globally, touching numerous countries such as Taiwan, China, and England. Stanley\u0027s ingenuity was evident through his inventive spirit, holding an impressive tally of 17 patents. His innovations ranged from commercial underfloor air conditioning, thermostats, smoke detectors, to key locks, and the groundbreaking \u0027Ride all in one wheelchair\u0027 among numerous other pioneering concepts. In addition to his contributions in engineering, Stanley was a prolific author, sharing his expertise through the publication of three books, including two non-fiction technical works and one captivating piece of science fiction. His legacy also extends to his commitment as a Consumer Advocate for Safety, championing causes such as nationwide concerns related to Star Wars Light Saber batteries and Schlitterbahn safety. Beyond his professional achievements, Stanley cherished his family dearly. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 51 years, Karen Demster, and his children: Renee (Mason) Grigg, Russell (Yareli) Demster, and Natalie (Jerry) Nelson. He is also survived by his two 1/2 brothers, Paul and Larry Kobe, and four adoring grandchildren, Gabrielle, Lucas, Madison, and Jacob. Bradley Wayne Eldridge, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on December 1, 2023, in Kansas City, Kansas. He was born on January 8, 1969, in Jacksonville, Illinois. Bradley's untimely passing has left a void in the hearts of all who knew him. Brad had an illustrious career as a diesel mechanic. He worked tirelessly at Gully Transportation before venturing out on his own to establish Mico Transportation and Mico Repair in Grain Valley, Missouri. His dedication to his craft and commitment to excellence earned him the trust and admiration of his clients. A graduate of Lincoln High School, Brad valued education and always strived to learn new things. While his professional achievements were admirable, it was his warm and genuine personality that truly set him apart. Bradley never met a stranger; he had an extraordinary ability to connect with people and forge lasting friendships wherever he went. His ornery humor and magnetic presence would light up any room he entered. Above all else, Brad cherished his role as a father. He was an exceptional parent who loved his children unconditionally and supported them in every aspect of their lives. Their happiness meant the world to him, and he dedicated himself wholeheartedly to their well-being. In his spare time, Brad found solace in the great outdoors. He had a deep love for nature and sought refuge at his cabin in Mark Twain Forest. Whether it was canoeing along tranquil rivers or embarking on exhilarating off-road adventures with his four-wheeler, Brad found peace and joy in these outdoor pursuits. Brad was active in the Boy Scouts of America with Troop 605 and a member of Mic-o-say as Thundering Black Sky. Brad is preceded in death by his parents; Wayne Eldridge and Phyllis Neff, and his grandmother; Lillie Peters. He is survived by his wife and love of his life; Carrie Eldridge, his children; Mike Eldridge (Sarah), Emily Eldridge (Nick), Jared Eldridge, Jake Dwyer, Tyler Dwyer, and Ryan Dwyer, his granddaughters; Malia Eldridge, Morgan Eldridge, and Tapanga Soberalski and her mother; Emilee, his very special aunt and uncle who cared for and loved him as his own; Donna and Steve Blanford, his pups; Oreo, Leo, and Moose, and his cats; Mogley and Freeway. Brad's life will be celebrated through two meaningful events. The visitation will take place on December 8, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Speaks Suburban Chapel located at 18020 East 39th St S, Independence, MO 64055. This gathering will provide an opportunity for family and friends to share fond memories and offer support during this difficult time. The funeral service will be held the following day, December 9, 2023, starting at 10:00 AM. The family will have a private interment for Brad in Potosi, Missouri at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in Brad’s memory to the Missouri Department of Conservation.Show more

Barbara Ann Scott-Johnson, age 85,Barbara Ann (Woods) Scott-Johnson passed away peacefully on December 1, 2023. Barbara (Barb) was born 2/11/38 in Kansas City, Kansas to George and Madge Emma (Eads) Woods. She had 2 older brothers, George, Jr. (Sonny), and Jim. She graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1956 and was a class officer in several of her high school years. While there, she was involved in many clubs and activities. Barb has lifelong friends from Frances Willard Grade School to Wyandotte High, which was a testament to her loyalty and her genuine friendship. Barbara married Dale Scott in 1956 and, together, they had three children - Debbie, Dale, Jr (Scotty) and David. In 1987, she married Paul Johnson. Paul and Barb enjoyed golf, bowling, travel and had many friends that accompanied them on their travels. Paul passed away in 2011 after Barb lovingly took care of him at home. She was an active member through the years of Muncie La Sertoma, Opti-Mrs, Wesley United Methodist Church, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. In addition to being a great mother, Barb was a respected businesswoman, her love of people made her a natural in sales. Starting with selling Avon while her children were young, then part-time real estate, and then working with Carpet Corner from its infancy to becoming one the region's largest flooring retailers. She opened several stores as manager in a time when women were not prominent in those roles, all the while never missing any of her kids' activities. Of her many accomplishments in life, her proudest achievements were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Even though she had success in business, her fondest and most fulfilling years were spent raising her children and watching them grow. Barb was a lifelong member of Wesley United Methodist Church. Donating countless hours, helping to ensure Wesley stayed open in times when many of the older churches in the area closed their doors. Barb was preceded in death by her parents, George and Madge Woods, brothers, George, Jr. (Sonny) and Jim Woods, and her loving husband, Paul Johnson. Barb leaves behind her 3 children: daughter, Debra (Tom) Steinmetz, sons, Dale Jr (Karen) Scott, and David (Kathy) Scott, and daughter-in-law Sherri Bailey-Scott. Six grandchildren: Deanna (Stephen) Sheets, Tommy Jr. (Erin) Steinmetz, Trisha (P. J. ) Dhabolt, David Scott Jr. , Trey (Lauren) Scott and Brett Scott. Soon to be 9 great-grandchildren, Dia, Rhiannon, Brigit Dhabolt, Dylan and Evan Sheets, Tatum and Mara Steinmetz, Allie Rae Scott, with another great-grandson on the way. Barb's loving children would like to thank the staff at the Piper Assisted Living for welcoming and taking such good care of mom in her final days, especially Janneice, Sydney, and Paula, just to name a few. Their loving care was truly felt by our mom. We would also like to thank Faith Hospice and their wonderful staff for helping mom have a peaceful end of life.
