Alexina Regan

Alexina Regan

Age - 77

November 21, 2023

Zina Regan (Alexina Georgia Rioux) passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on November 17 after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. She was born on November 11, 1946, in Caribou, Maine, the first of seven children to Alexis and Eva Rioux. Zina was a 1964 graduate of John Bapst Memorial High School. After graduating, Zina relocated to New York and then to Marion, Ohio. She eventually returned to Bangor and married Daniel Regan. Zina and Danny loved family and hosted many gatherings at their home. They had 27 happy years together before his unexpected passing in 2001. Zina was a respected professional in the Bangor community and most notably held positions within the Penobscot County Registry of Deeds and served as a legal secretary in the Bangor area. She adored animals and sometimes had up to six cats, many of them rescues. A fierce competitor, she participated in bowling leagues and traveled for tournaments where she made countless life-long friends. She found great joy in card games, especially cribbage, with her family. Zina embraced adventure and delighted in sharing tales from her journeys to destinations such as Holland and Las Vegas. She had a strong affinity for hockey and held UMaine Hockey season tickets for numerous years, where her evident enthusiasm for the sport was visible and audible. A natural leader, Zina served as a dedicated board member with the local Eagles Club organizations in Brewer, Maine, and Zephyrhills, Florida where she eventually established a home during the winter months before moving permanently. Later in life, Zina met Arthur Goodie, the second act in her love life. They had a mutual appreciation for music, family, and a zest for life. They shared 15 beautiful years before his passing in 2017. Zina was one of a kind. She had a large social circle, a magnetic personality, and a unique ability to make anyone feel special. She was passionate, a true fireball, and the life of any party. Zina was stylish - a stunning beauty inside and out - sporting heels, glitzy jewelry, and fabulous nails right up to the end of her incredible journey. She had a lust for life, and there was never any doubt if Zina was in a room; her contagious laugh and spirited voice could always be heard. Her friends and family will undoubtedly feel the void of that charisma. Zina is survived by four brothers: Roger Rioux and wife Kris; Laurent Rioux and wife Ruth; Claude Rioux and wife Colleen; Robert Rioux and partner Mary, and one sister, Rhonda Sprague and husband David, as well as 18 nieces and nephews whom she adored greatly, and many great nieces and nephews. Zina was predeceased by her parents; her brother, Tommy Rioux; her husband, Daniel Regan; and the second love of her life, Arthur Goodie. Per Zina's wishes, a celebration of life will be held in the summer 2024 and will be announced at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff and residents of Lexington Manor and the staff at Tidewell Hospice in Port Charlotte, Florida, for their companionship and compassionate care.Show more
