Bobbie Murphy O'Neal It is with profound sadness that the family of Bobbie Luckette Murphy O'Neal announces her passing on November 23, 2023, at the age of 89. Born August 15, 1934 in Luling Texas, to parents Julius Edward Murphy and Winnie Barton Cathey Murphy. Bobbie's twin, Billie Arlene Murphy, was her lifetime companion from birth. Bobbie's life journey was shaped early by the untimely passing of her mother while giving birth, resulting in her and her twin sister being raised amidst the thin life of the Texas Oil Patch by their resilient father, loving grandmother, aunts and uncles and two wild ass older brothers, one named Mack and the other. . . they just called him Junior. Bobbie was a woman of many talents and passions. She was a graduate of Kingsbury High School, where she made a name for herself in sports, along with her sister Billie, leading their team to a State Championship in Basketball. Bobbie had a love for the simpler pleasures in life - fishing, cooking, oil painting, and the joyous sound of her honky-tonk upright piano, which she could (and did) play by ear. She also liked to drive yellow Cadillacs. Bobbie embraced life fully, celebrating Christmas and Thanksgiving with huge family parties, enjoying a good game of dominoes, and the excitement of visits to Vegas or Coushatta. Her love for travel took her to the far corners of the globe, from the rolling green hills of Ireland, the ancient culture of China, the Mountains of Switzerland, to the tropical beauty of Puerto Rico, but it was the roots of home destinations like fishing the mighty Guadalupe River, or visiting family in Leesville. . . Prairie Lee. . . Lockhart or Gonzales Texas that made her most happy. Finally, the tranquil lake place at Kingsland at Lake LBJ, where she and her beloved husband of 67 years, Denver Franklin O'Neal Jr. made a beautiful home that she loved the most. Bobbie was preceded in death by her dear husband, Denver, her parents and siblings, her poodles including Zsa Zsa and many of her kin folk and friends who (we believe) have been waiting patiently for her homecoming, so the music could begin. The Trumpets, the Harps of Gold, and maybe. . . just maybe a little "Walking to New Orleans" on an old upright piano, played by a Saint of a women who loved through her smile. Bobbie leaves behind her children Damon O'Neal and wife Donna of Kingsland, Dani O'Neal Barrington and husband John of Bastrop, and Daryl O'Neal and wife Jena of Dripping Springs Texas. As well as grandchildren: Dawn O'Neal Garner, Dev'n O'Neal Morrison, Denver O'Neal III, Demi Barrington, Lt (USAF) Mac O'Neal, Ella O'Neal as well as eight great grandchildren; Ashlyn, Ainsley and Trey Garner; Emma and Paxton Morrison; Henry, Harrison and Lily O'Neal Our mom loved flowers and gave them often, please send flowers through Frey Tags Florist or any Austin local florist. She also loved animals, please consider a donation to Austin Pets Alive Medical Triage and Wellness Clinic in the name of Bobbie O'Neal. Nancy Christine Ashe was born on February 27, 1943 to Mabel Palmer in Valentines, Virginia. She retired from Motorola and served as an usher at Zion Rest Baptist Church. Nancy was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Cheops Court 182, and the past deputy for the Oasis of Austin. She traveled the world with her husband while he was in the Air Force. She loved living in England. She enjoyed going on cruises with her family and other places in the states and foreign countries. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Nathaniel Ashe, and son Nathan Ashe. Nancy is survived by: daughter Regina Ashe (Georgia); grandson Harry Ashe (Austin, TX); three sisters Margaret Davis (Roanoke, VA), Geraldine Ashe (Norman/Austin, TX), Fannie Palmer (New York); goddaughters Karen Busch (Arizona) and Aritha McLain (Austin, TX); godson Lee Brown (Pat/Ft. Yvonne Adams

The life book of Yvonne Elise Adams opened June 11, 1969. Yvonne was born Austin, Texas to the late Willie Berry and Martha Hill. Yvonne was the proud wife of Mr. Kevin Adams and equally proud mother of three beautiful children: Brittany, KJ and Jaila and grandmother (YaYa) to Caysen. Though she was mother of these three, there are countless others she mothered while here on earth. Yvonne was a graduate of S. F. Austin High and remained "Loyal Forever. " She was an All-District performer in basketball and volleyball for many years receiving several accolades while competing. She was also an avid lover of kickball, winning a state championship as a Coach and being known as a great player for many years. She earned a scholarship to Blinn Jr College, where she earned National All American Honors. After taking her team to the national tournament for the first time in the school's history, she gained the attention of several college coaches, but chose Texas A&M University as her favorite. Once there she was immediately impactful and earned player of the week twice, all conference Honors and was named the Student Athlete of the Year in 1991. The Aggies' called her "The Thrill Hill". Yvonne accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by her uncle, the late Rev. Levester Wilson, Sr. Sister Adams was proud to only have had one church home her entire life: Corinth Missionary Baptist church. Growing up Yvonne was involved in all of the Youth Activities and was frequently asked to speak on behalf of the church. Later under the pastoral leadership of Pastor Gary M. Renfro, Sister Adams worked with Hospitality Committee (President), School Principal for Vacation Bible School, and was the church clerk for many years. Yvonne worked at St. Stephen's Episcopal School for 31 years. Coach Adams loved her job so much that she never felt like she was going to work. She enjoyed educating children alongside her good friends and had a special gift of championing the underserved and believing in the impossible. Though she never actually "taught" in the classroom, there were countless students that learned from her tutelage about life. She was the first person to hold the position of Director of Equity and Inclusion and she held that position for five Years. In 2019 she earned The Diversity Award given by the DiversityIS Magazine for her work on the national stage in diversity, equity and inclusion. She was also a member of The National Sorority Phi Delta Kappa, Inc. , and enjoyed her time with the black female educators on the local and national level. Lived in Westlake but was never too proud to return to or let it be known she was a proud product of or lift up her East side heritage. The life book of Yvonne Elise Hill Adams closed on November 17, 2023. Those who are awaiting her homecoming: parents: Martha Hill and Willie Berry. She is preceded in death by: sister: Wilma Jean Walker, uncle: Rev Levester Wilson, Sr. , and aunt Mittie Bolden. She leaves to cherish her memories: her devoted husband, Kevin Adams, Sr; her children: Brittany (Myles) McCormack, Kevin Adams, Jr,("KJ"), and Jaila Adams; her grandson: Caysen McCormack; her adopted child: Anitra Washington Baker (Tommie, Jr. ); mother-in-law Brenda Foster, James Wilson (Carolyn), Frank Wilson, John Wilson (Gerri), her brothers: Marcus Henson, Marvin Hill (Norma), Daniel Ray Hill (Janice); Wilma Jean Walker (deceased), Barbara Crawford (Michael), George Walker (Charlotte) and Scotty Thompson (Rene); her sister-in-law Tracy Mouton, her brother-in-law Charles Dow, III (Trey). Her special families: James, Montyne, Nicole, and Ebony Ockleberry and Skylar Harris and the Clifford crew and Bundyhill Gang, and adopted sisters: Keisha (Chris) Kinchion Jones, LaKeisha Williams, Michelle Arnold Tate and LaShonda (Aaron) Green; beloved members of the Glasgow Group, nieces and nephews: Joshua, Johnette, and Jamal Hill, Shametra, Roshanna, and Ketric Rivers, Toby and Destiny Hill; and a host of relatives and friends, SSES colleagues and students. Our beloved Pete Quintero, Sr. , age 76, was called to our Heavenly Father on Saturday, November 25, 2023. He passed way peacefully surrounded by the love of his family. Pete was preceded in death by his son, Steven Quintero; his father, Raul Quintero, Sr. ; his siblings, Raul Quintero, Jr. , Jose Quintero, Armando Quintero, Refugio Quintero, and Adela Quintero, and his brothers-in-law, Paul Thagard, Theodore Lawson, and Ray Luna. Pete proudly serviced our country as a member of the United State Marine Corp, Army National Guard, and Air Force Reserves. Pete is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janie Lugo Quintero; his mother, Margarita Quintero; his son, Pete Quintero, Jr. ; his treasured grandchildren, Joshua Quintero, Madeline Quintero, and Shannon Quintero; his siblings, Leonarda Thagard, Maggie Quintero Lawon, Tilly Luna, Alda Correa (Elezar), Toribio Quintero, and Mario Quintero, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.
