Ann McArdle (nee Moughan) 89, of Westfield, formerly of Rahway, died Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Sunrise assisted Living in Westfield. She was born and raised in Pittston, PA. and moved to Rahway in 1962 and then to Westfield in 2012. Mrs. McArdle worked in administration for Verizon in Rahway for 36 years before retiring in 1984. During her years living in Rahway she became a communicant and very active member of St. Mary's R.C. Church as well as a member of the Rosary Altar Society. She was the 1999 Rahway Senior Citizen of the Year. Ann volunteered at Rahway Hospital for many years and enjoyed knitting and crocheting in her spare time and donated her creations to Rahway Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband Edward McArdle in 2012 and her sisters Mary Doran and Nona Jordan and her brother Joseph Moughan. Ann is survived by her 10 nieces and nephews; Robert McArdle, James McArdle, Maureen Stellmach, William McArdle, Mary Kay Benavente, Ellen Lariscy, Anne Dunaway, Jack Moughan, Joanne Custer and Jack Jordan . She will also be missed by several great-nieces and great-nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral Friday, May 3, 2019 ,9:00am from the Pettit- Davis Funeral Home, 371 West Milton Ave, Rahway, thence to St Mary's R.C. Church, Rahway where a funeral mass will be offered at 10:00am. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery, Clark. Visitation is Thursday 6:00pm- 8:00pm.
