Clinton, NC September 8, 2023 Aniuel Edwin Spell (A. E. ) 92, of 3425 Old NC 24 Hwy. , Clinton passed away September 8th, 2023 at Southwood Nursing & Retirement Center. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 12th at Crumpler Honeycutt Funeral Home with Rev. Tonya Williams. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Crumpler Honeycutt Funeral Home beginning at 10:00 AM on Tuesday and at other times at his home. A. E. born in Sampson County, was the son of the late Rassie Nixton & Lydia Tyndall Spell. He was the widower of Velma Branch Spell and was preceded in death by 9 brothers and sisters and 4 step-brothers and sisters. A. E. was the owner & operator of Spell's Auto Sales in Clinton and a member of The Church of God, Andrews Chapel Road, Roseboro. He is survived by 2 children: Edwin Ray Spell (Patsy) of Wallace and Jackie Murray Spell (Charles) of Clinton, 3 grandchildren: Edwin Darrell Spell (Meredith)of Belville, Kim Spell Jones (Ray) of Beulavlle & Heather Murray Watson (Derek) of Clinton, and 8 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. A. E. is also survived by siblings: Elbert Nixton Spell (Alease)of Clinton, Welton Spell of Hope Mills and Brenda Spell Hall (Colon) of Hope Mills and 1 Step Brother: Burnice Melvin (Faye).
