Aniceto David Barrera, born on December 29, 1941. A dedicated man of faith, a loving and incredible father, and an adoring grandfather to his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, went to be with Our Lord on September 30, 2023, at the age of 81. He is preceded in death by his father, Aniceto V. Barrera; mother, Carolina Orosco; and brothers, Gilbert Barrera, and Frank Barrera. He is survived by his loving wife, Rosita Barrera; daughters, Rosie Chavez and husband Randolph, Elizabeth Barrera, Marie Flieller, and husband Bruce; son, David Barrera and wife, Joleza; and daughter Angela Barerra; sister, Carolina Barrera; 15 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren; extended family, and friends. David's life was a testament to unwavering love and devotion. He had a deep love for his wife, Rosita Barrera, that was the stuff of legends. Through the highs and lows, including Rosita's battle with MS, David stood by her side, cherishing every moment they had together. Their love story was an inspiration to all who knew them. In his professional life, David found fulfillment in helping others. He fondly shared stories of his time delivering newspapers, working at the local grocery store, and especially his service as an officer at the commissary, where he tirelessly supported those serving in the military. His commitment to helping his fellow man was unparalleled. David was a true conversationalist who could strike up a chat with anyone he met. His love for people was evident in the way he connected with others. He was a compassionate soul who never hesitated to lend a helping hand to friends and neighbors, even in his own times of difficulty. One of David's greatest passions was driving. He had a vehicle for every occasion, from his bright red truck to his beloved Lincoln and the iconic Millennium Fire Bird. He and Rosie loved road trips to Vegas, where they relished in each other's company, exploring hotels, enjoying buffets, and watching shows. Above all, David will be remembered as an incredible and loving man who embodied the values of faith, family, and selflessness. His priorities were clear: God first in his life, his beloved Rosie second, and his children and extended family followed. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and generosity that will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. David Barrera's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched, and his example of what it means to be a loving and dedicated man will continue to inspire generations to come. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 9, 2023, from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at St. Brigid Catholic Church, with the recitation of the rosary to begin at 9:30 AM followed by a 10:00 AM mass.
