Angeline Rose Nowak, 93, of Brenham, Texas, widow of Ike S. Nowak, passed away on September 8, 2023, at her residence. Angeline was born in Houston, Texas, on November 19, 1929, to John B. , Jr. , and Mary Ann Koteras Kaminski. On October 3, 1953, she married Ike S. Nowak in Chappell Hill. Throughout her life, Angeline’s focus was always family first. She enjoyed dancing with Ike at weddings and family reunions. She was a true homemaker, as well as an amazing cook and gardener. She was involved in her children’s activities and especially enjoyed supporting her grandchildren in their baseball and softball events. Her legacy lives large through her surviving family members which include sons & daughters-in-law, Daniel (Danny) and Margaret Nowak of Houston, Harold and Diane Nowak of Austin, Mark and Jacque Nowak of Austin; daughter and son-in- law, Evelyn and Russell Stein of Brenham; grandchildren, Sam Nowak and Hillary Tusick of Seattle, Washington, Max Nowak of Austin, Jake Nowak of Austin, Bridget Stein and fiancé Dane Winkelmann of Brenham, Dalton Stein of Brenham, Craig and April Box of Tomball, Dustin and Nikki Gross of Tomball, Russell and Kimmy Gross of Virginia Beach, Virginia. Also surviving are great-grandchildren, Shelby and Justin Dowdell of Tomball, Aubrey Box of Tomball, Payton Gross and Haylee Gross of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Riddick Gross and Ryker Gross of Tomball, and Jax Dowdell of Tomball; and sisters-in-law, Gertrude Nowak of Richmond, and Georgianna Nowak of Rosenberg. Preceding her in death were her husband, Ike S. Nowak; her parents, John and Mary Kaminski; brother and sister-in-law, Leonard and Mae Kaminski; sister-in-law, Florence and Frank Faterkowski; and brother and sister-in-law, Emilian and Darlene Kaminski. A visitation for Mrs. Nowak will be held on Thursday, September 14, from 5:00 p. m. until 8:00p. m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel with a Rosary starting at 7:00 p. m. The funeral mass will be on Friday, September 15, at 10:30 a. m. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church of Chappell Hill. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Sam Nowak, Max Nowak, Jake Nowak, Dalton Stein, Allen Kaminski, and Stanton Nowak. Honorary Pallbearers will be Brian Nowak and Danny Twardowski. Dorothy Lou Roberson Crowson was born December 31, 1934 at her grandparent's house between Bedias and Iola, Texas. She passed away peacefully at Silver Sage Assisted Living on December 9, 2023. She spent most of her life in Bedias, except for the 42 years that she spent teaching school in Port Lavaca, Iola, and Brenham. Dorothy graduated as the valedictorian from Bedias High School, where she was also crowned Homecoming Queen. She went on to attend Sam Houston State University and Texas A&M University. She married her high school sweetheart, Donald Ray Crowson, in 1957. They both worked in education up until their retirement. Don and Dorothy enjoyed 59 years of marriage before Don's death in 2015. Dorothy was an active member of the Bedias Church of Christ. Her joy was taking care of her grandchildren. She loved teaching school and specifically teaching young children to read. She had a passion for sewing and quilting. She could always tell you when the Astros were playing and would go watch her grandchildren play sports whenever she was able. She is survived by her two sons and their spouses, Dr. Dennis and Melissa Crowson, and David and Kristi Crowson of Brenham, Texas; Grandchildren Wiley and Veronica Crowson of Kingsville, Margaret and Greg Melton of Houston, Alli and Robert Stark of Brenham, and Charli Crowson of Brenham; Great grandchildren Aubrey Crowson of Kingsville and Alice Melton of Houston; Brother, Dr. Cliff (Gene) Roberson of Houston and Sister, Marilyn Ash of Houston. She is preceded in death by her husband, Don Crowson and her daughter, Donna Crowson. A visitation for Dorothy will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Brenham Memorial Chapel located at 2300 Stringer Street, Brenham, Texas. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at 11:00am at Bedias Baptist Cemetery located at FM 2620 Bedias, Texas. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial donations be made to Bedias Church of Christ or the Bedias Fire Department. Annette Luedke, 67, went to be with the Lord on December 9, 2023. Annette was born on November 8, 1956 to Raymond and Annadell Hodde Blum in Brenham, Tx. She had a very happy childhood being raised by her loving parents who were devoted to each other and their faith in God. She was blessed to meet her lifelong friend, Hertha at the age of 5. Annette met the love of her life, Billy John Luedke, at age 15. They married on August 9, 1975. They were blessed with 2 children, Matthew and Alyssa who were a joy to her life and never gave her any reason to worry. After Billy's death in 1992, she was sustained by the love of her children. She was very proud of how they grew into honest, responsible and genuinely good people with good hearts, strong faith and awesome work ethics. In 2017 she was blessed with the birth of her grandson, Nico. They had special times planting seeds and watching them grow, collecting rocks and Nico singing while she played the "pianio" as he called it. In 2022 God blessed her again when she received the joy of the birth of her granddaughter, Abby. She was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church on 12/16/1956 and later confirmed in the Lutheran faith on 04/04/1971. Annette served at Zion Lutheran Church as a Sunday school piano player at a young age and continued into adulthood. She served as church organist for many years at Zion Lutheran at Zionsville, Immanuel Lutheran at Wiedeville and Peace Lutheran in New Braunfels. She was a member of the choir at all three churches as well. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Billy Luedke and her parents Raymond and Annadell Blum. She is survived by her son Matthew John Luedke and companion Lisa Ybaben, her daughter Alyssa Ann Luedke Martinez and husband Paul Martinez; grandson Nicholas (Nico) John Martinez; granddaughter Abigail (Abby) Bree Martinez; brothers: Wayne Blum and wife Janie and Darrell Blum and wife Linda; nieces: Catherine Blum Kenjura, Emily Lee and Sarah Dildy; great nieces and nephews: Charlie Kenjura, John Kenjura, Caroline Kenjura, Margaret Lee, Henry Lee, Elizabeth Lee, Emily Giffin and Austin Dildy. She is survived by her special companion since 2002, Marvin Green. Earl Luedeker, also known as "Bobby" and "Buck", died on December 2, 2023 in Brenham, Texas. He was born April 10, 1933 in Crawford, Texas to Ernest Luedeker and Laura Warmke Luedeker. Earl met Margaret Braunagel and they were married in 1962. They had one son, John. Earl was a proud member of the US Army from 1953-1955 where he served as a medic. After returning from service, he began working for Union Pacific Railroad in Oklahoma. He then attended the University of Houston and received his Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Afterwards he began working as an air conditioning contractor and later purchased Velvet Air Sales Incorporated. Earl loved the outdoors, not only growing up but also as an adult. He loved hunting and fishing, especially around the Lake Waco area where he spent a lot of time. Earl also enjoyed tinkering with all types of things and considered himself quite the engineer. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Wilbert Luedeker and LeRoy Luedeker, and brother-in-law Marvin Reich. He is survived by his wife Margaret, son John Luedeker and Maggie Conder, sister Christine Reich, granddaughter Lara McGrew and husband Matt, great granddaughter Addyson McGrew, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jicky Reich, Glenn Reich, Hobie Reich, Gavin Reich, Hunter Brown, and Christopher Luedeker. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at 1:00pm at Brenham Memorial Chapel. David Flinnoye Hopkins, Jr. passed away peacefully on Sunday November 26th, 2023 at the age of 83. A visitation will be held at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham, TX on Tuesday December 12th with the family present from 5 – 7 pm. David was born on April 15th, 1940 in Houston, TX to his beloved mother Elizabeth Stockton Deavers and father David Flinnoye Hopkins, Sr. His childhood was spent around the country before most of his formative years in Galveston, TX. He graduated from Ball High School in 1958 and held many fond memories there centered around the beach and singing in various school and church choirs. He got to Texas A&M as fast as he could upon graduating and was a proud member of the Core of Cadets and Class of 1962 with a degree in Accounting. He continued to follow Aggie Football & the Aggie Band and was involved as a member of the Association of Former Students his entire life. Many of his family members followed in his footsteps and have called Aggieland home because of his decision to be an Aggie! His time at Texas A&M further inspired a love of his country and he joined the Army, serving admirably from December 1961 through his Honorable Discharge in November 1967. At that time, he continued to serve his country on the civilian side in the Aerospace and Defense Industry through his employment with General Dynamics as a Technical Systems Specialist within their Corporate Office and later with the FMC Corporation as a Manager of Systems Assurance in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. David moved to Brenham, TX in 2011 to care for his ailing mother and be near his extended family, learning to love his new home and neighbors in Kruse Village. He looked forward to the special luncheons and gatherings amongst the neighborhood and neighbors remember him fondly with his wit and knowledge of electronics! David is survived by his niece, Holly Hopkins Richardson and her son Blake (5) and his nephew Mike Hopkins, Jr. (class of 2004) and his wife Liz Hopkins (class of 2005) and their two children Tyler (10) and Travis (8). He is preceded in death by his mother Elizabeth Stockton Deavers and his brother, Mike Hopkins (class of 1967) and his wife Nina Hopkins. Delia Martinez, who was better known as "Lita" by her children and grandkids, went to be with the Lord on November 17th. She was home surrounded by her 10 children. Delia was born in San José De Reyes, Mexico on June 11th 1934. Delia married George C. Martinez December 10th 1964. They made their home in Coleman, Texas. Delia was a devoted mother and wife. She loved to sing, garden, and cook for her family and friends. She will be dearly missed by her family. Ray M. Januszewski, 80, went peacefully to be with his Savior Jesus Christ on November, 28, 2023. Ray was born in the Greenville community of Washington County on August 28, 1943 to parents, Joseph and Mary (Cendalski) Januszewski. He attended school at Mill Creek, Berlin, and St. Mary’s Parochial School. He graduated from Brenham High School in 1961. Upon graduation from high school, he enlisted in the United States Army in 1961 and served for 3 years, with one tour in Korea with the 1st Cavalry Division and the remainder at Fort Riley, Kansas with the 1st Infantry Division. He had attained the rank of infantry sergeant and was honorably separated in 1964. After separation, he went to work for and helped open H-E-B grocery in Brenham. He also enrolled at Blinn College as a full-time student. While doing both, he also went to work for Steadley Company, a bedding manufacturer, which later became Leggett and Platt. Ray graduated from Blinn College in 1967 and was employed at Leggett and Platt for 41 years until his retirement. After retirement to stay busy and active, he went to work at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in facility maintenance for the next 11 years, until his health forced him to stop working. After he stopped working, he still remained as active as he could. Throughout his life, Ray was a talented carpenter and woodworker and could fix just about anything. He loved to cook and leaves behind several original recipes for his family to enjoy for years to come. His time in the military taught him to be extremely neat and organized that continued throughout his life. His greatest joy in life and the legacy he leaves behind is in his children and grandchildren. He spent the last years of his life being highly committed to watching his grandchildren grow up and nothing gave him more pride than watching their successes. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Januszewski; his sisters, Janie Goryczki and husband, Bruno, Stella Kubitzka and husband, John, and Monica Krenek and husband, Johnnie; his brothers, Stanley Januszewski and wife, Mary, and Bill Januszewski and the mother of his children, Patricia Bass Ray. He is survived by daughter, Shannon Jacobs and daughter, Brandy Scott and husband, Brad Scott; and granddaughters, Brooke and Brenna Scott; his brother, John Januszewski; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, as well as close friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 9 at 10:00 a. m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brenham, Texas with graveside services following.
