Angela Dawn Maynard, age 49 of Pikeville, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at the Pikeville Medical Center. She was a hairdresser and of the Methodist Faith. Angela was born in Williamson, West Virginia on August 15, 1974 a daughter of Betty Hampton Maynard and the late Donald Maynard. She is survived by her mother, Betty Hampton Maynard, her fiance, Charles D. Clark, two sons, Devan Alexander Allara of Pikeville, Kentucky and Tyler Clark of Garrett, Kentucky and one grandchild, Lillian Harper. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Barbara Clark, two Uncles, Jethro Hampton and L. J. Hampton and an Aunt Pat Ratliff. Visitation will be in the J. W. Call Funeral Home Chapel after 6:00 p. m. Thursday, October 5, 2023. . Funeral Services will be 1:00 p. m. Friday, October 6, 2023 in the J. W. Call Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Maynard Family Cemetery at Burning Fork.

Anita McKenzie Williams age 77 of Pikeville, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at the Pikeville Nursing and Rehab Center in Pikeville. She was an employee of South Central Bell Telephone Company for 37 years before retiring. She was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church. Anita was born in Paintsville, Kentucky on February 5, 1946 the daughter of James Ballard and Mary Barber McKenzie. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Roger Anthony Williams and one son, Anthony Heath Williams (Laurie) of Lexington, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Ruby Williams and Jasper Williams. She is also survived by two brothers, Jack McKenzie of Pikeville, Kentucky and Barry McKenzie of Irvine, Kentucky; a host of Nieces and Nephews and her caregivers, Greta Goode and Sherri Kent. Charles Kenle Cole, age 70 of Pikeville, Kentucky passed away Friday, December 1, 2023 at the Pikeville Medical Center. He was a retired gas well tender for Alert Oil & Gas Company. Charles was born in Pikeville, Kentucky on January 1, 1953 a son of the late Kenle and Lillie Robinson Cole. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, James Robert "Jamie" Cole on November 23, 2007, a sister, Alberta Cole and a brother, Robert L. Cole. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Ray Cole, daughter-in-law, Katrina Cecil of Pikeville, Kentucky and a granddaughter, Lindsay Renee Cole. He is also survived by two brothers, Don Cole and Ralph Cole (Lisa) all of Pikeville, Kentucky, and three sisters, Iva Linehan of Pikeville, Kentucky, Hazel Swiney (James) of Hobart, Indiana and Laura Kendrick (David) of Pikeville, Kentucky. WISE, VA. DECEMBER 3, 2023 Coy Watson Kilgore, 93, passed away Friday, December 1, 2023 at the Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, Kentucky. He was a member of the Regular Baptist Church, a U. S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, and was a retired coal miner. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Watson Kilgore; his parents, I. P. and Cora Kilgore; a brother, Ira Kilgore; and two sisters, Beatrice Jackson and Pearlie Mullins. Surviving are his loving wife of 63 years, Betty Kilgore; daughter, Sandra Taylor and husband Robert; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. Loretta was born in Pikeville, Kentucky January 14, 1947 the daughter of the late Earles and Amba Viola Burris Murphy. She was a home maker and a past Sunday school teacher at her church, Pikeville, Main Street Church of Christ, and was a day care school teacher. She was also preceded in death by a son, Timothy Dwayne Adkins in November 2018, two brothers William and Randy Murphy, and a great grandchild Blake Norman. Loretta is survived by; two daughters, Linda Adkins Miller of Pikeville, Kentucky and Deborah Adkins Slone and her husband Gene of Betsy Layne, Kentucky, two sisters, Sandra Leslie and her husband Marvin of Harold, Kentucky and Vanessa Townes of Pikeville, Kentucky, five Grandchildren, Sabrina Hall and her husband Josh, Heather Miller, Austin Slone, Haley Miller, and Alicia Slone, Six great grandchildren, Hannah Hall, Katelyn Hall, Tyler Hall, Brennan Hall, Westyn Slone, and Nala Jackson. Betty was born Thursday January 12, 1939 in Logan, WVA a daughter of the late Jessie James and Minta (Lackey) Branham. Betty was a homemaker and member of the Rebecca Old Regular Baptist Church. Other than her parents Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years Bill Hall; four brothers Cliffton "Pood" Branham, Willy "Buster" Branham, John Branham, and David "Rounder" Branham; one sister Jean Quigg; and one grandchild Kim Igo. Betty is survived by two sons Denver Hall of Pikeville, KY and Eddie Hall and his wife Kim of Bypro, KY; three daughters Mary Alice "Lucy" Ray of Bevinsville, KY, Mable Roberts of Pikeville, KY and Roberta Damron and her husband Ronnie of Paintsville, KY; 13 Grandchildren B. J. Hall and his wife Julie, Becky Slone, Lena Damron and her husband Derek, Angie Hall, Paula Carver, P. J. Hall and his wife Audrey, Heath Hall and his wife Ashley, Billy Ray, Charles Ray, Travis Roberts and his wife Christy, Jessica Brown and her husband Jeff, Tiffine Hudson and her husband Eric and Christopher Damron and his wife Kelly; 26 Great Grandchildren; and 6 Great-Great Grandchildren. Carlis Vernon Justice, age 70 of Pikeville, Kentucky passed away Thursday, November 30, 2023 at his home. He was a coal miner, a member of the U. M. W. A; a graduate of Mullins High School and he was a Christian of the Freewill Baptist faith. Carlis was born in Pikeville, Kentucky on December 29, 1952, a son of the late James Albert and Juanita (Wagner) Justice. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Carolyn Newsome and Brenda Stamper. He is survived by his loving wife, Pamela Darlene Stevens Justice, three sons, Chad Justice (Samantha) of Morehead, Kentucky, Shane Justice (Marsha) of Stanville, Kentucky and Jason Justice (Tasha) of Pikeville, Kentucky and one daughter, Jessica Justice Helton (Matthew) of Prestonsburg, Kentucky and a sister, Melinda Taylor of Pikeville, Kentucky. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Candace Fearis (Carson), Jordan Justice, Olivia Justice, Andrew Justice, Jayden Justice, Jameson Justice, Hayden Hartz and Hunter Hartz and one great-grandchild, Carter Rayne Fearis and also Two Children-By Heart, Angel Ward, Shannon Corbitt and three Grandchildren-By-Heart, Corbin Looney, Caylee Looney and Hudson Corbitt, and a host of nieces and nephews. Noah Stephen "Steve" Friend, age 83 of Pikeville, Kentucky passed away Thursday, November 30, 2023 at his home in Pikeville. He was member of Mouth of Joe's Creek Church of Christ. He served as Executive Assistant to the former Pike County Sheriff and 2 Past Judge Executives, he retired after serving with Fuzzy Keesee. He worked at Kroger's; in Social Services; as a Probation and Parole Officer; served as Pike County Sheriff at one time for about 90 days; never saw an old car he did not like; was a loving supporter of animals; a graduate of Mullins High School and Pikeville College. Steve was born in Pikeville, Kentucky on October 26, 1940 a son of the late Noah Robert Friend and Carolyn "Callie" Hunt Friend. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his nephews, Bruce Philip Swanston and Mark Kenneth Lowe and niece, Jennifer Lynn Swanston. He is survived by is wife, Phyllis Lowe Friend and two sisters, Jennifer L. Friend of Columbia, Kentucky, and Carole Friend Bessen (Alan) of Columbia, Kentucky. Also nephews, Noah R. She is survived by a son, Jerry Nichols of Pikeville, Kentucky and three daughters, Sandra N. Lampkins (Billy) of Huddy, Kentucky, Lou Ann Nichols and Lavonne Nichols both of Pikeville, Kentucky; a brother, Ted Stratton of Stole, Ohio and a sister, Ruth Ann Smith of Streetsboro, Ohio. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Sherry Boyd, Cedrick Howard, Cynthia Carter, Gregory Lee Akers, Jeffrey Adkins, Craig Slife and Kaleb Lamb and several great-grandchildren.
