"Spartanburg, SC – Ralph Wayne Long passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at 76 years of age. Wayne was the son of the late Ralph Greene and Doris Hudson Long and the loving husband of Marsha Abee Long. Wayne was a member of Catawba United Methodist Church and proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a hard worker spending the majority of his career as a mechanical engineer. Wayne will be remembered for having a servant’s heart. He lived his life to help others and found great joy in doing so. In his free time, Wayne was happy to spend time hiking with his son, traveling to see many Southern Gospel concerts, and loved woodworking. He often used his skill to help people in need by crafting wheelchair ramps, porches, and many other things. Wayne impacted many lives during his lifetime and will be deeply missed by those who loved him. In addition to his wife, Wayne is survived by his children, Lori Long and Brian Long (Christy); his siblings, Larry Long (Joan), Roger Long (Rhonda), and Susan Trent (Bobby); as well as his granddaughter, Catherine Long. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 2, 2024 from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM at Living Waters Funeral Home \u0026amp; Crematory. A service will begin at 2:00 PM. He is survived by his mother, Jacqueline Goforth of Chesnee, Brother, Jason (Laura Grace) Blake of Clover, South Carolina, sisters, Jessica (Jason) Lamb of Chesnee and Amanda (Charlie) Blake Thornton of Chesnee.Brian was predeceased by his brother, Jeffrey Blake, in 2022.Brian's family invites friends for visitation on Thursday, February 15, 2024, 12:00-1250 pm, in the Chapel of Harris-Nadeau Mortuary. He served our country in the U.S. National Guard and was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to his wife is his daughter, Hollie Flynn and Fiancée Stephen Barrett of Spartanburg; son, Michael Flynn and wife Thelma of Boiling Springs; brother, Ray Flynn of Hover, Alabama; grandchildren, Brianna Flynn and Fiancée Michael Johnson, Emma Flynn, Conner Flynn, Omega O’Neal, Camella O’Neal, Quinten O’Neal and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Roy Flynn. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:15 p.m. Friday, February 23, 2024 at Fairview Baptist Church. Mike is survived by his devoted son, Michael Weathers, and his loving daughters Melodie Nelson (Jeff) and Misti Allen. His memory will be cherished by his siblings Bill Weathers (Mary) and Roger Weathers. Mike's legacy lives on through his grandchildren: Josten Allen, Corbin Nelson, Whitney Allen, Bailey Nelson, Kaitlin Weathers, Alexis Weathers, and Cole Nelson. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren Rylan Allen and Alyssa (Izzy) Jordan. His life was deeply enriched by his special friends Ken Mayfield and Tony Cantrell. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Paulette Leonard Weathers, and his parents, Lee Weathers and Callie Belle Weathers. Albert Michael Weathers found joy in various hobbies and interests, including fishing, camping, spending quality time with family, solving word puzzles, and even the adventurous pursuit of panning for gold. He was known for his handyman skills, always ready to lend a helping hand. Mike will be remembered as a true giver, selflessly taking care of others, a peacemaker, and a beacon of kindness. His dedication to his family and hardworking nature will be etched in the hearts of those who knew him. Mike had a remarkable sense of humor, always bringing laughter into the lives of those around him. A faithful member of Pelham First Baptist Church, Mike actively supported their senior program. His presence and contributions will be greatly missed, but the impact of his love and generosity will endure through the memories shared by family and friends. Tayshaun Khalil Thompson affectionately known as "Trap" passed away on February 21st, 2024 in Spartanburg South Carolina at the young age of 19. He was the brother of Pernell Thompson Jr, Christopher Flemming, TyKeezie Thompson, Satin Flemming and Aliyah Thompson. Tayshaun graduated from Union County High School in 2022. Tayshaun was a gifted sportsman, he played multiple sports throughout the years, his most notable was basketball. His shining smile and warm affection was known by many. Tayshaun was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Arthur and Pearlie Byrd and paternal grandparents Hattie Mae Mobley and Wilbur Thompson Jr. His maternal aunts Willie Ruth Byrd, Jo Ann Byrd and uncles Vernon Byrd and Robert Byrd and paternal uncle John Web Thompson. He leaves behind a loving family, his parents, brothers, sisters, a host of nieces and nephews and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly. Diane Davis Gilbert, 77, went home to be with the Lord on February 22, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Robert Davis Jr. and Fay McCarter Davis. Diane loved to spend quality time with her family. She enjoyed planting flowers; her favorite being snapdragons and pansies. She loved birds, but chickadees and red birds were among her favorites. Diane also loved to shop on QVC. She is survived by daughters, Christina Thompson (Lloyd), Tonya Johnson (David) and Nikki Gilbert (Brad); a brother, Gary Davis (Robin); a sister, Gail Huff (Eddie); grandchildren, David Worthy Jr. (Heather), Stephen Smith, Amber Smith, Brittany Wall (Tyler), Leslie Johnson (Nick), Arielle Gilbert, Chris Mauldin and Emylie Bray; and ten great grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Petty Funeral Home from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. The funeral service will follow at Petty Funeral Home at 3:00 PM. Rev. Dr. Terry Floyd will be conducting the service. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the home of Christina Thompson.
