SCOTT ~ Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 11:30 a. m. in Holy Cross Catholic Church(415 Robley Dr, Lafayette, LA 70503) for Angela Faye Fontenot, age 62, who passed away Monday, September 4, 2023 at her parents' home in Scott. Inurnment will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery at a later date. The Rev. Fr. Mario Romero, pastor of Holy Cross Catholic Church, will officiate at the services. Ms. Fontenot was a native of Eunice and a resident of Scott where she was a parishioner of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Angela loved spending time with her family and friends, her dog, reading, and her most recent interest - making jewelry. Angela was a diehard LSU and SAINTS football fan!Survivors include her father, Emery Charles Fontenot; one brother, Gregory Charles Fontenot and his wife, Amy; one sister, Veronica Fontenot Stinson and her husband, David; her nieces and nephews, Chelsy Heath and her husband, Skyler, Chasity Fontenot and her fiance, Josh Soileau, Heather Badeaux and her husband, Kolby, Greg Fontenot, Jr. and his wife, Layla, Hunter Stinson and his wife, Katie, Victoria Stinson Shaddox and her husband, Tanner, and Logan Stinson; and her great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Norma Lanthier Fontenot. CARENCRO ~ Memorial services will be held Monday, December 4, 2023 at 11:00 a. m. in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Frederick Holt Mead, age 66, who passed away Friday, December 1, 2023 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. Graveside service will be held Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 11:00 a. m. in Centuries Memorial Park, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, LA. Holt was a native of Monroe and lived in several different places growing up. His dad was a Methodist minister in the Louisiana conference so they moved frequently throughout his childhood. He vowed to stay in one house when he married his wife, Susan, after all the moving in his youth but they actually moved to a new home 20 times in the course of their 44-year marriage. Though there was much change in scenery over the years, the one thing that remained true was that home was always wherever they could be together. At 25 years old, Holt was promoted to Chief Estimator at Roger's O'Brien Construction Company, making him the youngest Chief Estimator in the Dallas Fort Worth area. He successfully negotiated the building contracts for many projects over the years including Harrah's Casino Hotel in New Orleans, and the Dolphin and Swan Hotels at Disney World. Holt and Susan were members of Crossroads Church in Lafayette. They were very fortunate to have the opportunity to travel the world together, making memories in Uganda, Kenya, Malawi and Hawaii, among other places. Holt was able to share in the magic of Disneyworld this year with not only his wife but his son, daughter-in-law and precious baby granddaughter, Elliott Claire. Survivors include his loving wife, Susan Burfoot Mead of Carencro; one son, Matthew Alexander Mead and wife, Lyndsey, of Carencro; one granddaughter, and Elliott Claire Mead. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick Anthony Mead whom passed away on the same day 27 years ago, December 1, 1996, and the former Margaret Proffitt; one son, Kyle Wilson Mead; and one sister, Margaret Wrenette Whartenby. His hobbies were gardening, crawfishing, fishing, fixing things, and being outdoors. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Rickey Paul Melancon, age 65 who passed away Monday, November 27, 2023 at his residence in St. Martinville. Rickey was a native and lifelong resident of St. Martinville. He was a jockey for several years and loved horses all of his life. He loved cooking meals, dancing to zydeco and spending time with his family whom he adored. He will be missed by all. Survivors include his companion of fifteen years, Christine Gauthier of Port Barre; two sons, P. J. Mr. Knott was a native of Lafayette, LA and a resident of Pensacola, FL. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed camping and fishing. He also loved playing the guitar, Sci-Fi movies, house projects, gardening, and aquariums. Survivors include two sons, Charles Ryan Knott (Tarita) and Matthew Gordan Knott (Juliann); two daughters, Leah Knott (Nicholas Tillman) and Alysa Calvarese (Jonathan); two grandchildren and one on the way, Oliver Nicholas Tillman and Mariella Darlene Calvarese; and his mother, Patrician Ann Edwards (Robert). Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville for Vivian Richard, age 84, who passed away Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Ochsner St. Mary Hospital in Morgan City. Interment will be in St. Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville. The Rev. Travis Abadie, pastor of St. Francis Regis Catholic Church, will officiate at the services. Mrs. Richard was a native of Arnaudville and a resident of Morgan City. A devout Catholic, she prayed the rosary every night. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards, going to the casino, crocheting, watching The Price is Right and her soap operas, spending time at the hunting camp and drinking a cold one. Spending time with her kids and grandchildren was her favorite. She will be greatly missed. SUNSET ~ Funeral services are pending for Aubree Grace Foreman, age 16, who passed away into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, November 23, 2023 at her residence in Sunset. Aubree Grace Foreman was born on October 6, 2007, celebrating her 16th birthday this year. She attended Lafayette Renaissance Charter Academy where she was actively involved and enjoyed helping for various events. She was a scholar, a shining light for her peers, and radiated love!Aubree played an integral role in spotlighting various organizations throughout the community and advocated for the Fill the Boot Foundation to support our heroes. She was a local Good Will Ambassador for the MDA and a Shamrock Ambassador - a position which allowed her to travel to many MDA events. She had an admirable respect for those in uniform and was an honorary Lafayette Marshall Officer, an Honorary Junior Fire Fighter with Station 13, and an honorary black belt with Daigle's ATA. Officer Aubree aspired to become a 911 dispatcher to be able to help others in need. Aubree's goal was to spread awareness and through this beautiful soul, many lives have been touched and will continue to be touched through her legacy. She was an extraordinary little girl that was adored by everyone she came in contact with. She just had this special aura about her that was loved by all and will be missed by many. Breaux Bridge- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, November 27, 2023 at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Carlos Edwardo Figueiredo, 66, who passed away on November 16, 2023 at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center. A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge on Monday from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM. A rosary will be prayed at 9:30 AM on Monday. Rev. Blake Dubroc will officiate at the funeral mass. Readers will be Jamie Figueiredo and Emry Figueiredo. Gift bearers will be Brecken Figueiredo, Noah and Reid Vizena, and Anderson Broussard. Carlos was born in Petrolopis, Brazil, but was raised in Arnaudville, LA. He was known by the nickname, "Ca Nee". Carlos graduated from Arnaudville High School in 1975. He then attended trade school where he was trained in Nondestructive Testing. Carlos was employed by several companies. A few were, D & W Enterprises, Bordens, Cameron Ironworks now Cooper Cameron then finally Shell Oil. Shell gave him the opportunity to work in Singapore, Malaysia, and New Orleans, where he then retired. His place of residence was Lafayette for several years. Carlos spent many years working overseas, where he made many friends just like he did at home. He was a very likeable man that would help anyone if he was able. While overseas, he became an avid golfer. When back in Louisiana, he did play golf, but spent time bass fishing in Toledo Bend. The last few years he spent his time camping in his RV and at the hunting camp in Tensas National Wildlife Refuge with Jenny and their dog, Zoie. He will be deeply missed. He is survived by his partner Jenny Hebert; two brothers, Luiz Figueiredo (Maria) and Murray Rabalais Jr. (Joan); four sisters, Anne R. Richard (partner Jay Clothier), Karen R. Olivier (Pat), Ana Lucia Figueiredo and Ana Lydia Camargo; one son, Tibby Figueiredo (Sadie), two daughters, Megan Broussard and Jamie Figueiredo; five grandchildren, Brecken and Emry Figueiredo, Noah and Reid Vizena and Anderson Broussard. He is preceded in death by his mother, Louise G. Rabalais; father, Murray Rabalais Sr;brother, Warren Figueiredo; and grandparents Octave and Alma Guilbeau. Viator; and three great nieces and one great nephew who she loved and looked at as her grandchildren, Julia, Emma, Leigha and Howard. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harmand Angelle; her parents, Aristille J. Legere and the former Marie P. Blanchard; her son, Christopher Angelle; her daughter, Hazel Angelle; three brothers, Theodore Legere, Aristille Legere, Jr. , and Jessie Legere; and four sisters, Martha Foil, Verlie Lormand, Azalie Meyers, and Theoland Castille.
