"Boyce Barry Nesbitt, 66, Muscle Shoals, passed away on Monday, December 4, 2023. Visitation will be Friday, December 8, from 1:00 - 3:00 p. m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel with Tommy West officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Sheffield. Boyce was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon. He worked as a police officer for twenty years with the Muscle Shoals Police Department, earning the rank of Sergeant, and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He then worked for ten years as an electrical inspector and retired with the City of Muscle Shoals. Boyce was a proud supporter of Muscle Shoals Athletics and served as Boosters Club President. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, and camping. He was a huge Alabama fan. But most of all, Boyce enjoyed helping people. He never met a stranger and enjoyed the friendships that he made in his community. Boyce was preceded in death by his parents, Freddie and Peggy Nesbitt; and brother, Freddie Nesbitt. Boyce is survived by his wife, Tina Denton Nesbitt; children, Brett Ann Nesbitt and Grant Nesbitt; sister, Fredda Woodis; brother, Robbie Nesbitt; and grandchildren, Ariel Hayven Nesbitt and Khloe Skye Thompson. Pallbearers will be Tim Mashburn, Scott Nesbitt, Lee Nesbitt, Lee Pendergrass, Gregg Pounders, and Houston Mashburn. Ronald Nesbitt, Wallace Hannon, Frankie Crow, Tom Berryman, and Bobby Joe Bostick will serve as honorary pallbearers. "Show more

"Rauney Leroy Mitchell passed peacefully on October 17, 2023. He was born August 15, 1933, in Sheffield, Alabama, to Leonard D. Mitchell and Naomi (Grissom) Mitchell. He is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years, Wanda Jackson Mitchell; brother, William Mitchell and wife, Joyce, of Colbert Height AL; grandson, Rauney James Mitchell and great-grandson, Peyton James Mitchell of Marineland FL; daughter-in-law, Judith M. Parton of Georgia; and son, Tim Mitchell of Huntsville AL He is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Naomi Mitchell; son, Art Mitchell; sisters, Kathleen Gibbs and Jane Carpenter; and brothers, Terry Mitchell and LD Mitchell. Raun graduated from the University of Alabama in 1969 and was a proud lifelong Alabama Football fan. (Roll Tide Roll, Papaw!) He retired from IBM as an Executive Graphic Designer. He was a very talented watercolor artist and this translated into his career. Raun's IBM career started with the Apollo Space program, which included designing Apollo mission patches. He received many accolades from Apollo flight teams for his artwork, including being recognized at the Goddard Memorial Dinner in Washington DC. Arrangements will be provided by Morrison Funeral Home Tuscumbia Alabama. Graveside family funeral services will be held Saturday November 11, 2023, at 11:00 a. m. at Piney Grove Cemetery, New Bethel, Colbert County, Alabama. Bro. "Vicki Roden Cunningham, 68, died on November 7th, 2023, with her family by her side. Vicki was born to the late Bobby and Fannie Roden. To know Vicki was to know she loved her little brother, John Roden and her brother in love Rick Fancy. She was so excited when they welcomed their daughter, Addison (15) to our family. She was married to Bobby Cunningham for forty-one years. Bobby and Vicki built a foundation of love and focused on their family. She was a beloved wife, mother, nana, sister, and friend. She touched the lives of many with her kindness, compassion, wit, and her unwavering love. Her legacy is carried on through her family and countless individuals she influenced throughout her life. Vicki was a devoted mother and source of boundless love, guidance, and strength. She cherished every moment spent with her daughters, Ashley Bowling and Teri Holland (Jacob). Her grandchildren, Dorian Bowling (11), Scarlett Holland (7 months), and Hunter Holland (10) adored their nana. Vicki spent time creating last memories with her family, which will be cherished forever. She instilled in her children and grandchildren the values of empathy, perseverance, and the importance of family, leaving a remarkable legacy. The family will be hosting a celebration of life to honor her Saturday, November 11th from 2:00 pm-4:00 pm at New Sockwell Baptist Church in Leighton. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude's Research Hospital or a local school library in her memory. Vicki will be eternally remembered and greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she touched.
