Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Jose Tomas Lugo; children: Michael Lee (Myrna R. Our good and gracious Lord has called his faithful and humble servant, Gloria N. Flores to her Heavenly home on December 7, 2023. She was born on May 26, 1943, in Laredo, Texas, the daughter of Manuel and Casimira Flores. Gloria was a graduate of Martin High School and Texas Womans University Denton , where she earned a degree in elementary education. She became a teacher with Laredo ISD, and taught at Urban, Dovalina and Ligarde Elementary Schools. Gloria was very committed to education and her passion was helping her students grow and develop life long skills to succeed. Throughout her teaching career, she positively and lovingly touched the lives of many students during her 35 years of service. She is preceded in death by her parents: Manuel A. Flores and Casimira J. Flores; brothers: Juan J. Flores, Jose Saucedo, Manuel Arizola; and sister: Guadalupe Juarez. Left behind to cherish her memory are her children: Gloria Adriana Flores, Arturo III (Patricia) Flores; grandchildren: Arturo Flores IV, Annabelle Marie Garcia, Rebecca Neri (Conrado) Bermea, Patricia Nicole Garcia, Valeria Alejandre Flores, Abigail Victoria Flores, Jesus García, Melissa Ariana Flores, and Oscar Manuel Flores; great-grandchildren: Ariana Elizabeth Flores, Myla Rodriguez, Arturo Lorenzo Flores, Sofia Cristina Bermea, and Drago Axel Flores, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Jesus Garcia, Conrado Bermea, Daniel Domínguez, Thomas Solis, Arturo Flores IV, and Óscar Manuel Flores. The family will gather to celebrate her life on Monday, December 11, 2023, from 5 to 9 pm at Hillside Funerals & Cremations, where a Prayer Service will be held at 7 pm by Pastor Eddie Aranda. Jessie Frances Neal Coonrod passed away December 6, 2023 in Laredo, Texas, where she lived with her husband, Clifton W. Coonrod (†) for 23 years. She was born on August 19, 1936, in Tom Green County, San Angelo, Texas. She spent her early years attending school and being an active member in the First Christian Church, where she enjoyed playing the piano for her congregation. She also participated in Sunday school, singing groups and afternoon teas. She played the organ for weddings and church, as well as the piano for a dancing studio. She attended TCU and San Angelo Business College from which she received her Business Degree. Her later years were spent in Corpus Christi, Texas, where she was congregant and board member of the First Christian Church. She volunteered at Spohn Hospital, worked for the Marine Division of Reynolds Metals Company, and managed her family's oil and gas business. She married Clifton W. Coonrod, January 24, 1976, in Laredo, Texas. She helped him run and manage his business, Coonrod Electric Co. , Inc. Jessie's hobbies included painting porcelain china, crocheting lapthrows for nursing homes, and making sweaters and bedspreads. She also enjoyed needlepoint and sewing some of her own clothing. She delighted in cultivating beautiful gardens in the homes where she lived. Her father was Jess J. Neal, a West Texas Rancher with ranching and oil and gas interests in Upton County, Texas. Jessie was especially proud of her father and maintained her interests in the original property which he gave her. She continued to work the land and the oil and gas interests from such land throughout her life. She was equally proud of her husband, Clifton Coonrod who began his contracting business in Sinton in 1956, and incorporated his business in 1975. Jessie was especially proud of the Jessie Frances Neal Foundation, which she founded in 2014 to provide 4-year scholarships to business students at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christy. Since its inception, the Jessie Frances Neal Foundation has awarded scholarships to 64 Islander students through graduation and 23 current Islander students. In recognition of its generous support, the Jessie Frances Neal Foundation received the Platinum Inner Circle of Excellence award from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi in 2019. She was also awarded a Doctorate of Humane Letters from Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi. A special thank you to the unwavering dedication, support, and care offered by her dear friend and office assistant, Carmina M. Butler, her committed household staff, Jesus "Chuy" Estrada, Argelia Estrada, Consuelo "Chelo" Martinez, Isaura Lopez, and her devoted medical team, Dr. Carlos Cigarroa, Dr. Eliel Nataki, Dr. Mohsen Ghadimi-Mahani, Karina Gonzalez, and Lamar Acevedo. JUAN MARTIN MADRIGAL September 17, 1962-December 1, 2023 Juan Martin Madrigal, 61, joined our Lord in is heavenly kingdom on December 1, 2023. Mr. Madrigal was employed by Laredo Independent School as an Auditory Impaired Unit Aide at Leon Daiches Elementary School. Mr. Madrigal was a loving soul that enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, colleagues, and students. He was creative, loyal, and demonstrated great warmth, kindness and generosity of spirit. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Deacon Salvador Madrigal and Maria Guadalupe Garza Madrigal, sister-in-law, Patricia R. Madrigal, and brother-in-law, Martin C. Pitón, Sr. Mr. Madrigal is survived by his wife of 25 years of marriage, Alicia G. Madrigal, and son, Juan Martin Madrigal II. He is also survived by his brothers, Salvador A. (Gloria) Madrigal and Jose Luis Madrigal, sisters, Martha B. Madrigal, Myrna G. Throughout her remarkable journey, Gloria dedicated 33 years of her life to the students of Christen Middle School of LISD, shaping young minds with her wisdom and nurturing their potential. Her dedication to education left an indelible mark on countless lives and will be remembered as a true testament to her passion for knowledge. In addition to being an exceptional educator, Gloria was a devout Catholic who found solace in her faith. She served as a Eucharist Minister and Lector at Christ the King Catholic Church, where her voice echoed through the sanctuary with grace and conviction. Gloria's unwavering commitment to her religious duties exemplified her deep spirituality and desire to spread God's love to all. Known for her loving and caring nature, Gloria's greatest joy in life came from her role as a grandmother. Her grandchildren held a sacred place in her heart, and she delighted in every moment spent with them. Gloria's love enveloped them, leaving lasting memories that will be cherished for generations to come. She is preceded in death by her parents, Leopoldo and Ninfa Benavides.
