December 2, 2023

Anthony "Tony" Terrones Morales passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 23, 2023, at the age of 67. He was born December 11, 1955, in Lompoc, CA to Jose A. and Mary T. Morales. He graduated from Lompoc High School in 1973 and began working at Bodgers where he met the love of his life, Alicia, and they would recite their vows on December 3, 1976. Shortly thereafter, he began a landscaping business which he retired from in 2017. Together, he and Alicia raised three bouncing baby boys. Tony was a family man and stressed the need to both visit and pay respects to family in his free time. Every Sunday the entire Morales family would get together, which usually wound up turning into BBQs at the family ranch on Highway 246. He loved barbecuing and taking the family on road trips to see family throughout CA in the family van on any whim. He was an extremely hard-working man and took great pride in his work. Among the many things he instilled in his boys was a great work ethic and generosity. Eventually, he answered the calling of his next and most important great love in Jesus Christ. Tony began to visit a local church and gave his life to Christ by becoming a born-again Christian. Steadfast in his faith, not a day went by where he did not live for God. Earlier in 2023, he and Alicia were blessed by gaining custody of three of his grandchildren whom he loved so much! Tony is preceded in everlasting life by his son Michael, parents Jose and Mary Morales, and his brother George. He is survived by his wife Alicia, sons; Anthony (Erika), Raymond (Kim), and seven grandchildren; Anthony, Michael, Evan, Sebastian, Brayden, Olivia, and Matias. Guadalupe Escobedo

Guadalupe Escobedo

Age - 86

Guadalupe Escobedo Valles December 12, 1935 - November 21, 2023 Our matriarch, Guadalupe Escobedo, passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, after a lengthy battle with dementia, she was 87 years old. Guadalupe was born in Orranteno, Chihuahua on December 12, 1935, el Dia de la Virgen de Guadalupe, to Bernabel Valles Madrid and Josefa Calderon Marrufo. She was the second oldest of five children. In 1951, she married the love of her life, Rosalio Escobedo in Ciudad Cardenas and they settled in Estacion Consuelo, Chih. Soon after being married, they welcomed their first child, Isabel, and within a few short years, three more children followed. The family moved to El Paso, TX. , Phoenix, AZ. , then, as a family of nine, eventually settled in Lompoc, CA. in 1962. Dona Lupe, as she was known to all, worked tirelessly to raise her family. Her home was always open to those who had just relocated to Lompoc and needed a meal, clothing, or any other assistance she could give. She also worked for a short period at the bean warehouse. Over the years, many bonds were formed with families she and Rosalio came in contact with, creating friendships that to this day still exist. Dona Lupe was very much a traditional Mexican mom who raised her family with a strict and stern hand. She taught her children the value of hard work and keeping traditions, which was then passed down to her many grandchildren she cared for over the years. Dona Lupe loved to cook for her family; chile colorado was usually on the stove and fresh flour tortillas on the table ready to feed one and all, yet she also taught herself to make American meals including complete Thanksgiving dinners and her ever famous spaghetti! Her grandchildren were spoiled on Wednesdays after school when grandma would order Domino's pizza, the only phone number she remembered by heart. In 1978, Rosalio and Dona Lupe, along with their sons and their spouses, opened Michael's Place, but everyone knew it as Chalios. From her perch near the front door, Dona Lupe kept a close eye on all who entered their establishment and was quick to yell at anyone misbehaving or who forgot to greet her. Even after her battle with cancer, she was back in her spot, watching over all who patronaged their establishment. Dona Lupe is survived by her husband of 72 years, Rosalio Escobedo, and her seven children: Isabel (David) Fletes, Manuela (Steven) Whitby, Ramon (Barbara) Escobedo, Michael Escobedo (Dela Caballero), Rosa Oseguera (Jose Rubio), Maria Reyna (Anthony Blanco) and Carmen Vargas, in addition to eighteen grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren, her brother, Antonio Valles of Estacion Consuelo, Chih, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, as well as siblings Alvino Valles, Vicki Valles, and Socorro Valles Holguin. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Dr. Brian Taber, the staff at the CC Unit at Lompoc Hospital, and especially to the CNA's, and nursing staff at the Comprehensive Care Center that tended to her during the last five years. A mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 8, 2023, 10 am at the Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 3495 Rucker Rd, Lompoc, CA. To plant Memorial Trees in memory of , please .Show more

Patricia Gausman

Patricia Gausman

Age - 89

November 26, 2023

Patricia Jean Gausman was born to Robert and Grace Yuengling in Montclair, New Jersey on December 26, 1933. Patricia and her younger brother Ron lost their mother at an early age. After a few years, Robert remarried, and Patricia was blessed with two more younger brothers, Robert and Fred. Patricia loved her stepmother, Catherine "Kay" dearly, enjoying mother-daughter vacations into their seventies. Patricia was raised in East Orange, New Jersey, graduating from East Orange High School in 1951. She continued her education by becoming a registered nurse. She graduated from Orange Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1954. She enjoyed and was adept at her nursing career as an emergency room RN. Patricia was active in the First Presbyterian Church of Orange, New Jersey as a choir member and a Sunday school teacher. She met her future husband Bill at Orange Memorial Hospital. They were married on June 22, 1957, at First Presbyterian Church of Orange. Patricia and Bill both worked at Newton Hospital in New Jersey. From there they both began working at Riverside General Hospital where they lived in Arlington, California. Bill completed his residency while Pat continued her nursing career. They spent their free weekends exploring the West Coast of California, where in 1960 Patricia and Bill decided to settle in Lompoc. The team of Patricia and Dr. Bill opened their first office in a small house on East Ocean. During the day it was a doctor's office and at night they would drag the mattress in from outside and it was their home. Money was tight but love conquers all, and life flourished. Soon they had a daughter Grace to take more of Pat's energy. Once Valley Medical Group was formed Patricia worked at Lompoc Hospital as a private nurse. Eventually, she became a wonderful full-time homemaker for her daughter Grace and son William, III. Patricia pursued many other activities including membership in the Children's Home Society, member of the deacons and of the choir at First Presbyterian Church of Lompoc, a member of Toastmasters, and a member of something very dear to her heart, CAPA, County Animal Placement Association, for many years. Patricia volunteered at the animal shelter, working diligently to find loving homes for many lost, abandoned, and lonely cats and dogs that came into the shelter. When young Bill married the love of his life Jenna, Patricia was thrilled! Within a few years, she was very happy to be called "Grandma" by her grandsons Liam and Nate. Patricia always wished they lived closer so she could enjoy their visits more often. Patricia leaves behind her dedicated and loving husband Bill of 66 years, her daughter Grace, her son Bill III, daughter-in-law Jenna, grandsons Liam and Nate, her brother Robert and his wife Chris, nephews Kurt (Marty) and Mark (Erica), grand nieces Anneka and Aria, grandnephew Zachary and Pat's brother Fred. Patricia was a very sweet woman who is sorely missed by her family and friends. Although our life has lost sparkles, Heaven has gained a star!
