Alice J. Spain, 92, of Thornville and formerly of Marysville, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2024 at her residence.A devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother, she retired from ITE/Bulldog Electric/Siemens where she had worked for over 32 years. An avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, she enjoyed word find books, driving the boat with Gary and riding the motorcycle with Garrel. Alice formerly attended the Marysville First United Methodist Church.Born December 18, 1931in Milford Center, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Georgia (Gansheimer) Rees. On May 13, 1950, she married Garrel Spain, Sr. and he preceded her in death on March 23, 1989. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sabrina Spain and four sisters, her twin, Anna Speakman, Linda Spain, Cora Speakman and Helen Simpson.She is survived by her sons, Gary Spain of Thornville and Donny (Frances) Spain of Marysville; grandsons, DJ, James E., Jason E., and Christopher L. Spain; 10 great grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; and her brother, Clarence "Bud" Rees of Zanesfield. Funeral services to celebrate Alice’s life will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, February 16, 2024 at Wilson Funeral Home. Burial will follow next to her husband at the Unionville Center Cemetery. Friends may call prior to the service on Friday beginning at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Those attending are encouraged to wear their favorite O.S.U. attire. Kevin Joe Harris, 54, of Thornville, passed away suddenly at 7:26 p.m. Sunday, February 18, 2024, at Fairfield Medical Center. Kevin was born May 23, 1969, in Zanesville, Ohio, the son of Nita K. (Hazlett) Harris of Thornville and the late Burl W. Harris. He was a 1988 graduate of West Muskingum High School and had worked for various trucking companies and farms. Everyone who knew Kevin knew he was a happy-go-lucky person and could tell a good story or joke. He is survived in addition to his mother, by three children, Troy, Brittney, and Brooke, all of Akron; three grandchildren, Troy Jr., Brantley, and Kolten; two brothers, Jeff and David Harris. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one sister, Beth Sesser. At Kevin’s request, there was a caring cremation. Kenneth Russell Burghy, 83, of Thornville, died at 11:30 A.M. on Monday, February 19, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 26, 1940, in Morristown, Ohio, a son of the late Kenneth Leroy and Virginia Lucille (Russell) Burghy. Kenneth was a Christian and a veteran of the United States Air Force, honorably serving his country for thirty one years and retiring as a Master Sargent from the AIG March 24, 2000. Kenneth deeply loved his family and enjoyed caring for his many animals who he treated as family members as well. He is survived by his children, three daughters, Jennifer Brown, Marina Burghy, and Danielle (Paul) Flack; one son, Bret (Tamara) Suver; eight grandchildren, Ethan Brown, Brandon (Taylor) Brown, Justin Flack, Jackson Flack, Hannah (Dillon) Ramey, Austin Suver and Zackary Suver; five great grandchildren, Lawson Brown, Findlay Brown, Quincy Brown, Liam Ramey, and baby Ramey on the way; three sisters, Glenna Hatcher, Christy (Leroy) Starcher, Famie (Joe) Doty; one brother, John (Donna) Burghy; and many loved nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his infant son, Daniel Burghy; a sister, Linda Bishop; and a son-in-law Michael Brown. A Celebration of Life will be announced at another date at the convenience of the family. Glenn loved spending time and traveling with his family, especially to Daytona Beach. He retired from the City of Columbus as a truck driver. Glenn was married to his beloved wife of 45 years, the late Margie Walker. He also preceded in death by 10 siblings. He is survived by his children, David A. He was a 1972 graduate of Sheridan High School and retired from Anchor Hocking after many years of service where he worked as a furnace operator. Margie was born October 3, 1926, in Zanesville, Ohio, the daughter of the late William George and Mildred L. Stiegler Pettit. She was a 1945 graduate of Somerset High School, and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Somerset, later attending Good Hope Lutheran Church. She was a former clerical worker for Ohio Power and was a former member of Somerset O.E.S. where she had served as a past worthy matron. She is survived by three sons, Charles Neil (Judy) Allen of Buckeye Lake, Thomas Edward (Lois) Allen of Barboursville, West Virginia, and Mark Eugene Allen of Michigan; five grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and one great-grandson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Charles W. Allen (1997); son, Stephen W. Allen (1966); and two brothers, Paul E. Pettit and Melvin N. Pettit. Amber loved working at the Beach Shop in Fairfield Beach. Amber made many friends at the Beach Shop, especially with her colleagues. Amber enjoyed playing sports when she was younger, she got the same enjoyment watching her sons Larry and Rodney play sports for the Millersport Lakers. Amber was an avid Steelers fan. Amber loved Mickey Mouse and loved collecting Mickey Mouse memorabilia. One thing Amber enjoyed the most was going to Las Vegas with her family. Amber is survived by her husband Bob Dermer, her two sons Larry (Alisha) Dermer and Rodney Dermer, her three grandchildren Labreyah, Javian and Amauri, her brother Craig (James) Dornon, sisters Victoria Cochran and Shelley (Jeff) Boyer. Helen was a proud homemaker and Tribal Mother, she loved raising her family and having everyone together when she could. Helen always enjoyed long rides with her husband Robert, quilting, beading, sewing, and going to Pow Wows. She is survived by her beloved husband Robert Griffin; children Kim Masters, Cindy Bair, Patty Fugett, Bob Griffin, and Jason Griffin; grandchildren Shaun Bair, Corey Sellers, Jamie Cook, Elizabeth Masters, Jesse Masters, Kyle Griffin, Jake Griffin, Nicholas Griffin, Landon Griffin, Matt Griffin, and Kristin Griffin; siblings David, Rick, and Jack Green; and a host of other family, friends, and loved ones. Thomas Wayne Bartolomucci, 77, of Thornville, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was born March 5, 1946. Tom will be remembered by family and friends for his tough exterior, caring heart, and for never hesitating to tell it like it is. Tom's perfect day would be spent fishing with his cousin, Rich or spending the day on the lake in Canada, where he and his family spent many a summer along with beloved dogs, Jack and Hannah, and later Eddie. He loved his Cleveland Indians and Browns, and of course, The Buckeyes. Tom retired from Lucent Technology in 1996. He has since enjoyed his days taking care of his chickens and bees with his wife Pam and spending time with family. Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Roger and Ann, wife Maggie, sister Carolyn, granddaughter Darian, and Grandma Jude. He is survived by his wife, Pam, sons Tom Jr. (Jen), Jeffrey (Chris), daughters Brandi (Donnell) Body, and Jessica (Tejay) Carswell, brother John (Janet), five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many family and friends. He was born on February 14, 1954, in Zanesville, Ohio, the son of Ronald G Waite Sr. and Shirley Jean (Myers) Waite. He is survived by his wife Paula (Canter) Waite; his children, Jeremy M. Waite, Joshua J. Waite, both of Mount Vernon, Ohio, Miracle R. Friesner of Logan, Ohio, and Promise M. Waite of Junction City, Ohio; eleven grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; siblings, Kenneth, Melody, Audra, Georgette and many nieces and nephews. Besides both parents and grandparents he was preceded in death by a sister Brenda Waite. He was a member of the Good Shepherd Church in Junction City.
