Kathy was born on September 25, 1961, to Ronald and Donna (Aldrich) Neihardt. She was a graduate of Cadillac High School and on February 10, 1994, Kathy was joined in marriage to Bruce Davis. She enjoyed different crafting activities, being around people, and always had her family in her thoughts. She will be deeply missed by her loving family. Cadillac - William Walter Fryer, of Cadillac, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at Munson Healthcare Cadillac Hospital. He was 85. William was born on January 30, 1939 in Macomb, Michigan to Walter and Laura (Hebbeart) Fryer. He answered the call of duty, serving in the United States Army as a military policeman. Upon returning home, he then entered into marriage with the former Kathleen Lozen in November of 1968 in Mount Clemens, Michigan. The couple proudly raised two sons, Robert and Daniel. William made his living laying carpet for over 45 years, until his time of retirement in 2006. William is survived by his loving sons, Robert Fryer of Cadillac and Dan Fryer of Tustin; numerous nephews and nieces; as well as many other loving family members and friends. Ruthann I. Strange of Cadillac, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024 at the age of 83. She was surrounded in love with family by her side. Ruthann was born in Detroit on July 17, 1940 to Richard and Thelma (Walsh) Farmer. She later attended Lake City High School. In the summer of 1957 she met Larry. It was love at first sight. Ruthann and Larry married in 1959 and the two have remained inseparable ever since. Their 65th wedding anniversary was four days before her passing. Ruthann was the ultimate matriarch, the heart and soul of her family. As a mother, she lovingly raised four children. She cherished being a grandmother, and devoted those years to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ruthann is survived by her loving husband, Larry Strange of Cadillac; children, Kelly (Rick) Benson of Traverse City, Mark (Jessi) Strange of Grand Rapids, Julie (Mark) Fonger of Gaylord, and Christopher (Michelle) Strange of Portland; grandchildren, Jennifer (Dustin) Fisher, Jessica (Brian) Danley, Ashlie (John) Bergeron, Kaylinn (Jake Sian) Fonger, and Alex Strange; great-grandchildren, Charleigh Fisher and Woods Danley; sister, Sherry (Danne) Sullivan; special furry companion, Riley; and many other loving family and friends. Jerry M. Sikkema age 80 of Marion passed away on January 18, 2024 at Munson Healthcare-Cadillac. Jerry was born on April 2, 1943 in Grand Rapids to Elton and Hilda (Ouwinga) Sikkema. He married Virginia Sutten January 25, 1964 at Highland Christian Reformed Church. He had worked at Cadillac Rubber and Plastics for over 35 years. He enjoyed cutting wood, loved his restored Farmall F-20, spending time with his grandkids and teaching all his nieces and nephews how to drive. He was always helping other people out. He is survived by his wife; Virginia Sikkema of Marion, two sons; Larry (Lori) Sikkema of Marion and Wade (Becky) Sikkema of Ravenna, grandchildren; Thomas and Patrick Sikkema and Trevor, Drew, and Kyle Sikkema and his fiancée Sarah VerSluys. Also surviving are his siblings and in-laws; Carol Hoogeveen, Jan (June) Brinks, Ron (Beverly) Sikkema, Sue Ann (Steve) Meeuwenberg, Norma Sikkema, Bonnie Sikkema, Linda Sikkema, Ruby Hilts, Albert (Susan) Sutten, Denise Sutten, Bonnie (John) Asby, Ellis Sneary and many nieces and nephews. Marion - Mary Margaret Dewey Collins, lifelong resident of Marion passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Munson Healthcare's Cadillac Hospital with family by her side. She was 89. Mary was born on April 6, 1934 in Marion, Michigan to Frank and Mary (O'Brien) England. Mary spent her career working as a secretary for her family's business, England Pole Buildings, for nearly 20 years. In 1952 she entered into marriage with Bud J. Dewey Sr. The couple spent 44 years together, until his passing in 1996. Together, they raised four sons, Buddy, Michael, Eric and Cuirt. Mary later entered into marriage with William Knowles Collins in 2000, they enjoyed 14 years together until his time of passing in 2014. Mary was proud of her faith and was actively involved in the Marion United Methodist Church. Mary contributed to the church as a youth group leader, Sunday school teacher, adult study leader, and lay pastor, in addition to serving on the Church Council, Christian Women's Club, and many years with the church luncheon committee. She held a prayer group at her home for over 20 years, where her and friends dedicated their time to praying for others. In her spare time, she could often be found writing and reading poetry, or creating art. Mary cherished the time spent with her family and loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary is survived by her loving children, Buddy (Tina) Dewey of Lake City, Michael (Lori) Dewey of Irons, Eric Dewey of Marion, and Cuirt (Deanna) Dewey of Marion; 20 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Orlan (Linda) England of Marion, Molly Green of North Carolina, and Gloria (Jim) Royer of Cadillac; her sister-in-law, Grace England of Marion; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bud J. Dewey Sr.; second husband, William K. Collins; and siblings, Jim (Shirley) Miller, Audrey (Leo) Herber, and Frank England. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 12 noon, with visitation held one hour prior at the Marion United Methodist Church. Interment will take place at a later date at Greenwood Cemetery, next to her first husband, Bud Dewey. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Marion United Methodist Church.
