Alyce Wolfe Obituary

Alyce Kaye Drass Wolfe, 77, of Hickory and formerly of Wilmington, NC, passed away, Saturday, May 6, 2023 at her residence. Born June 24, 1945 in Blair County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Mary Ethel Shoemaker and Robert Francis Drass. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Mary Frances Cash and Eleanor Rice; and a brother, Robert Drass. Alyce grew up in Hollydaysburg, PA, where she graduated from high school and Mt. Aloysius Business College. She was a longtime resident of Wilmington, NC, had retired as an insurance adjuster and was a former member of St. Therese Catholic Church in Wrightsville Beach, NC. She enjoyed working in her yard and shopping but her main joy was her family. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Herbert Warner Wolfe of the home; son, John Wolfe and wife Eileen of Lincolnton, NC; grandchildren: Charles Wolfe of Concord, NC, Kevin Wolfe of Statesville, NC, Sean Wolfe of Lincolnton, NC; two sisters: Gloria Jean Sager of Eerie, PA, Pamela Veronica Chaser and husband Dave of Plantation, FL; two sisters-in-law, Pam Tupone and husband Joe of Lumberton, NC, Jodean Myers of Canfield, OH; and two great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741. Bass-Smith Funeral Home in Hickory is serving the Wolfe family.
