Mr. Roger Walker, Sr, 79 of West Berrien passed away Thursday, February 22, 2024 at Tift Regional Medical Center. Roger was born July 27, 1944 in Sarasota, FL and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam. After service, Roger started working as a truck driver for many businesses. He became a member of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church. He loved his family and was an awesome man, just a big teddy bear. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Sue Fletcher Walker of West Berrien; children, Ken (Lisa) Graham of West Berrien, and Marci (Richard) White of West Berrien; grandson, Will White; brother, Duane Jekyll of Virginia; and several nieces & nephews. Roger was preceded in death by his sister, Fannie Fletcher. Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 25, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Saturday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Purvis Funeral Home. George “Larry” Tidwell, 72, of Tifton passed away Monday, February 12, 2024, at Tift Regional Medical Center. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 15, 2024, at Liberty Baptist Church in Tifton with the Rev. Gary Cadwell officiating. Mr. Tidwell’s grandson, Eddie Bennett, will give a eulogy. Mr. Tidwell will be laid to rest at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Tifton with the Rev. Steve Tucker officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at Liberty Baptist Church in Tifton from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service. Lawrence Cooper, Ricky Fletcher, Mark Dean, Ricky Dean, Jeremy Chambless, Garrett Chambless, Dugan Davis and Mark Rigdon will serve as pallbearers. Born October 20, 1951, in Tifton, Mr. Tidwell was the son of the late George LeBorn Tidwell and Ilene Laverne Bishop Tidwell. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Marie Dixon Bennett Tidwell. He was the former owner of Tidwell Well and Pump; and he was a salesman for Cycle Stop Valves Company since 2001. Larry was saved in February of 1983; and he was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Tifton, where he taught Sunday School for 10+ years and served as the Brotherhood Director. He was also a member of the Tifton Roping Club and Rodeo for 10 years. Mr. Tidwell is survived by his wife, Carolyn Stinson Tidwell of Tifton; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Bobby Edward “Roho” and Melissa Bennett of Tifton and Johnny “Bucky” and Lynne Ford of Cordele; one sister and brother-in-law, Lutrelle and Raymond Greene of Tifton; four grandchildren and their spouses, Bobby Edward “Eddie” Jr. and Jaclyn Bennett, Julie and Lawrence Cooper, Crystal and Cory Kennedy and Brandi and Thomas Nash; and nine great-grandchildren, Lily Grace Bennett, Bobby Edward “Bo” Bennett III, Ramey Jean Bennett, Thomas Cooper, Dante Kennedy, Jaden Kennedy, Strycker Kennedy, Sasha Nash and Conner Nash.
