Funeral service for Altie "Marshal" Ray, age 86 of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 12:00 P. M. on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Murray Orwosky Funeral Chapel with Doyle Hayes officiating. Interment will follow at Emblem Cemetery with Jack Schwen, Jerry Schwen, Jeff Schwen, James Schwen, Jacob Schwen, Robert Schwen and Joshua Schwen serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Mr. Ray passed away on Thursday, October 5, ,2023 at Hunt regional Medical Center, Greenville, TX.

Nathan O. Finke, 76, was born on November 28, 1947, in Brenham, Texas to Ollie and Evelyn Finke. In high school, he picked up a tennis racket, and his life was forever altered. He earned a tennis scholarship to Texas A&M University. Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home will direct Graveside Services on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at 10 A. M. at Restlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jason Palmer, Clint Palmer, John Kirkpatrick, Frank Griffin, and Doug Peak. Honorary Pallbearers are the Ross Volunteers. Mr. Finke passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, due to complications from diabetes. He moved to Dallas to begin his career in institutional sales at First National Bank in Dallas; he remained with the bank through several name changes. It was at the bank that he met his beloved wife. Nathan and June shared their lives for 52 years. Nathan was an avid tennis player, fisherman, and hunter. He was a proud member of the Texas A&M’s Legacy Society, Endowed Century Club, Heritage Society, Letterman’s Association (Lifetime Member), and the Association of Former Students. Through the years Nathan and his wife established a 12th Man Scholarship, an Endowed Ring Scholarship, an Endowed Corp 21 Scholarship, and a President’s Endowed Scholarship. He was most proud to be associated with the Veterans Ring Scholarship Program. This program allowed him to give back to the school he loved so much while thanking the recipients for their military service. He and his wife also endowed scholarships at Texas A&M- Commerce including in the School of Nursing, where they serve on the Advisory Board. He was also responsible for establishing a Finance Lab at A&M Commerce. Another organization Nathan supported was the Food Pantry on the A&M Commerce campus. Nathan is survived by his loving wife, brothers-in-law Bob Kirkpatrick (Nancy) and Seba Kirkpatrick (Vicki), and sister-in-law Ruth Palmer, and Ann Wyatt (Ronnie). Also surviving are eight much-loved nieces/nephews and their spouses along with 19 great-great nieces/nephews. Nathan Finke was preceded in death by nephew Bryan Palmer and great-nephew Sam Kopal. "Julia Mae Dane, 94 of Pilot Point, TX passed away on Monday, November 27, 2023, in McKinney, TX. Julia was born in Davis, OK on May 29, 1929, to Albert "Leonard" and Ruby W. (Davis) Gilliland. She married Temple Manuel Dane on July 19, 1947, in Pilot Point, TX. After 53 years of marriage, Temple preceded her in death on February 4, 2000. Julia attended Antioch Baptist Church in Aubrey, TX, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and church treasurer. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Pilot Point, TX. Julia married Bob Briscoe on July 9, 2005, in Aubrey, TX. Julia is survived by one son, Carl Wayne Dane and wife Judy of Pilot Point, TX; one daughter, Barbara Joyce Swadling and husband Jerry of Pilot Point, TX; four grandchildren, LaTisha (Dan) Marick, Shelley (Chad) Schon, Donny (Mary) Dane, and Kerri Dane; eight great-grandchildren, Raeden, Rhamzie, \u0026amp; Rylen Schon, Jacey (Jordan) Box, Jalyn (Bailey) Marick, Mark \u0026amp; Evan Mayes, and Sara Dane; one great-great-granddaughter (fifth generation), Collins Box; and one brother, Johnny Gilliland. She is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard \u0026amp; Ruby; husband, Bob Briscoe; two sisters, Lottie Marks and Frances Taylor; and two brothers, Wesley Gilliland and Bailey Gilliland. Natalia De La Rosa passed away peacefully at her home in Wills Point on Thursday, November 23, 2023 after a bravely fought battle with cancer. She was 82 years old. Natalia was born on December 1, 1940, the daughter of Manuel Cerda & Juventine Ortiz Cerda in San Alberto, Coahuila, Mexico. She married the love of her life, Alberto De La Rosa on February 28, 1960, in Agujita, Coahuila, Mexico. They moved to Wills Point in 1969, where together they raised their eight children and owned a local business for several years. She enjoyed watching college football and girls' softball, along with other sports - especially the Kansas City Chiefs and the Texas Rangers. She also enjoyed trips to play the slots & scratching lottery tickets. She was especially fond of gardening and being outside. She also really enjoyed traveling and going on cruises. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, father in-law, Crispin De La Rosa and mother-in-law, Trinidad Sifuentes. Natalia leaves behind a legacy of love as a devoted wife to her husband, Alberto and devoted mother to six daughters and two sons - Bertha and Rudy Potts, Beatriz Moody, Maria and Brad Goggans, Virginia Minter, Norma and Mark Malone, Alberto Jr and Carol Ann De La Rosa, George and Holly De La Rosa and Carolina and Shane Harden. She is also survived by her grandchildren - Nicholas Potts, Alicia, Christopher & Jessica Moody, Audra Valadez, Michael, Matthew & Jacob Gullett, Rachel Minter, Elizabeth Wilks, Michael Longoria, Miles & MacKenzie Malone, Casey & Cody De La Rosa, Cassidy Julian, Lora Harrison, Julia, Alex and Andrew De La Rosa, Madeline Salinas, and Cullen & Trenton Callow and her great-grandchildren, Jason, Kristen, Jayden, Sarah, Isaiah, Lexxi, Lyric, Jenisus, Meladie, Jo Lynn, Brianna, Jai Marie, Avery, Natalia, Persephone, Liam, Gage, Nova, Luna, Atlas, Jaxsen, Karter, Sutton, Joseph, Jonah, Brylie, Ashton, Addison, Audrey, Hadley Jo, Daxton, Sawyer, Charlotte, Huxxlee and Sorren and six great-great grandchildren - Isabella, Miller, Jason, Emilia, Jake and Josiah, who was born just two days before she passed.
