Allan "Monte" Montague Geddes, 92, of Mediapolis, passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 Visitation will be from 10:00 a m until 11:00 a m on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Service in Mediapolis Funeral Service will be 11:00 a m on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at the funeral home Graveside services will be at 2:30 p m on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at McConnell-Geddes Cemetery northwest of Fountain Green, Illinois A memorial has been established in Monte's name Online condolences can by left for the family at www sandhfuneralservice com Allan Montague Geddes was born on Jan 15, 1931 imn LaHarpe, IL, the son of Allen G and Edna Montague Geddes He married Erma M Melvin on June 19, 1955 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA He was a member of the Fountain Green Presbyterian Church He attended grade school and the first three years of high school in Fountain Green and graduated from La Harpe high school in 1949 He was Ammo Cpl 4th Gun Section with C Battery, 780th Field Artillery Battalion in the Korean War in 1952 & 1953 He remained in the Illinois National Guard where he received his commission in 1957 He was active in the American Legion and served the First District of Iowa as Commander in 1980-81 and fourteen years as Finance Officer He also was a life member in the American Legion, VFW, KWVA and Masonic Lodge #195 in La Harpe, IL He grew up on the family farm and loved that life, but later was employed by Iowa Industries in Burlington, Iowa He was a production supervisor with Champion Spark Plug manufacturing operation and retired in 1990 He loved the outdoors and enjoyed golf, fishing and hunting He was a master gardener and beekeeper He also enjoyed people and never met a stranger He had a wonderful sense of humor and usually had a story or a joke to share He is survived by his wife; two sons Thomas K and Brett A (Margaret) of Plano, TX; one sister Joy Geddes of Arlington Heights, IL He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Jean Lynn of Peoria, Illinois To to the family, please

Nancy June Piper passed away peacefully in Peoria, IL, on December 3, 2023, at the age of 89. Nancy was born in Peoria, IL, on June 10, 1934, to Virgil Martin and Eugenia (Fisher) Martin. Shegraduated with a bachelor's degree in Education from Southern Illinois University. After a brief time inCalifornia, she settled in Peoria and worked as an elementary school teacher for many years. She is survived by her step-children, Hugh Andrew (Susan) Piper and Heidi Piper; grandchildren:Skyler (Lisa) Anderson, Kayden Anderson, Chase (Karissa) Anderson, A. J. Grainger, LucasAnderson, Giacomo Morini, Julia Morini, and Liam Piper; and great-grandchild, Nora Anderson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Vaden Piper and sisters, Mary (Dick) Cole andElizabeth (Bob) Chaney. Nancy loved her family and friends and was very generous, dedicating her time to service forothers. She was an active member of St. Paul's Cathedral in Peoria for more than 40 years. Sheserved in the St. Martha's Guild, Parish Life, and Outreach Teams, was a Sunday Greeter, and couldalways be found in the kitchen for special events. Nancy loved the mountains and to be outdoors, was a great cook, and could be often found bakingcookies for church events. She loved to travel and traveled extensively with her husband Hugh on allseven continents. She was a word game master, loved spending time with her grandchildren, andwas always ready to listen and laugh together. Cremation rites have been accorded. Services will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 3601 N. North St. , Peoria, IL, 61604. The visitation will be held from 9:00a. m. until 10:00 a. m. and the service will begin at 10:00 a. m. with Rev. Jonathan Thomas officiating. The internment will directly follow the service at the church. Flowers may be sent to St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Jontario was born on July 15, 1985 in Peoria, IL to Johnnie Carpenter and Sheron Brown. Jontario was a loving and caring person. He loved to watch wrestling and loved to listen to the music of Michael Jackson and Cisco of Drew Hill. Jontario wouldn't harm a fly. He would remember everyone's birthday. Jontario would sit on the porch during any season and just enjoying life. Jontario leaves to cherish his most precious memory his father, Johnnie (Barbara Martin) Carpenter; one sister, Tontorya (Carl Clifton) Carpenter; bonus sister, Nadia Hyson; best friends, George Raland, Loris McElroy, Steve Perry all of Peoria, IL and Christopher Gaston of Denver, CO; nieces, Erianna Ellis, Destiny Beason and Iteritti Ellis all of Peoria, IL and a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends who loved him. Lois May Gentry, 91, of Sun City West, Arizona, formerly of Peoria IL, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at White Dove Assisted Living in Peoria Arizona. Lois was born on May 5, 1932 in Bartonville IL, a daughter of Lucille and Claude Smith. She married Jerald Gentry on May 7, 1998, in Peoria IL, he passed away on November 13, 2020. Lois is survived by her children, Lester Johnson; Danny Johnson of Peoria IL; Patrick Johnson of Champaign IL; Rebecca Johnson and Molly Johnson of Peoria IL; 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her parents, husband, sisters Dorothy Guppy and Shirley McGinnis, son James "Eddie" Johnson, grandson Jason Johnson and granddaughter Ylanda Johnson-Durst. Lois was a single parent raising 6 children, she put herself through nursing school and devoted her life to a career in nursing for 42 years. She became a novelist at the age of 81 and published two books, one of which, is a self-help autobiography to understanding domestic abuse. Lois enjoyed dancing, painting, cooking and taking care of her hummingbirds. One of her many sayings that she lived by was: "When life deals you lemons make lemonade". Lois was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Methodist Church. Per her wishes she will be cremated and no service will be held. Her ashes will be scattered in the Memorial Garden at the church. "Mr. DeAndre Michael Blocker, Sr. , 50, of Peoria, IL, passed away at 10:58 pm on November 25, 2023. DeAndre was born on September 8, 1973 in Peoria, IL to Genell (Johnson) Jordan and Leonard Blocker. DeAndre worked at Rivian Automotive, Inc. , in the operations and manufacturing Department. Dre, as he was affectionately known, was very caring and loved his family especially his mother and children. He was a proud single father known for taking the kids on trips to the park and other activities. Dre was a sports enthusiast. His favorite team was the Los Angeles Lakers. He enjoyed playing pool and video games. Dre was a great son, father and friend who will truly be missed.
