Alise Brys Obituary

"Alise H. Brys, age 88 of Mentor, passed away, Saturday, May 6, 2023 at her home surrounded by her children. She was born January 15, 1935 in Cleveland. Alise was a fiery soul who deeply cared about and prioritized her family above everything. She adored spending time with her husband, her children, her grandchildren and felt extremely fortunate to meet and bond with her nine great-grandchildren. Alise was an accomplished women who loved to entertain and was known to host the absolute best parties in the neighborhood. Those who knew her best said she treated anyone like family and had a knack for making those in her presence feel extremely special. She had a contagious laugh and witty personality. She was an animated and engaging storyteller and a wonderful leader and teacher. In true Alise fashion, she had a few words to share herself: If tomorrow starts without me, And I am not there to see, If the sun should rise and find your eyes, All filled with tears for me: I know how much you loved me, As much as I loved you, And each time that you think of me I know you'll miss me too. So, when tomorrow starts without me, don't think we are far apart, for every time you think of me I'm right there, in your heart. Survivors include her husband of 67 years: Jerome Brys; children: David Brys, Donald Brys, Douglas (Connie) Brys, Dawn (Michael) Bowen and Debra (Anthony) Romano; grandchildren: Allison (Nick) Pawlikowski, Samantha (Scott) Bossert, Leah (Kevin) Speakman, Brianna Brys and Bradley (Joe McMichael) Brys, Shannon (Adam) Yee, Daniel (Michelle) Brys, Molly (Thomas) Miller, Lauren Bowen, Connor (Rachel) Bowen, Perin Romano; great-grandchildren: Aubrey, Levi, Julian, Kobe, Roselyn, Isabelle, Grayson, Savannah, Jack and sister: Nancy (John) Organiscak. Preceding Alise in death are her parents: Gustov and Frieda Madeya and brothers: Bernard, George and Arthur Madeya. A funeral Mass will be held 10 am, Saturday, May 13, 2023 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 8560 Mentor Ave. , Mentor, Ohio 44060. Interment will be in All Souls Cemetery, Chardon, Ohio.
