Karl was born on November 14, 1935, to Paul and Rachel Oemig in Stanley and grew up on the family farm. A couple years after graduating from high school, Karl married Marcella Sloviak on August 31, 1957, and just recently they celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. Karl is survived by his wife Marcella, children Jean (Walt) Henning, Brad (Amy) Oemig, Jon Oemig, and Sonya (Derek) Gillingham, one sister Elsa Eichelt, 13 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.
