Alice L. Strauss of Fredonia passed away in the early morning hours of Wednesday, September 6, 2023. She was 82 years old. Alice was born at home in rural Saukville on October 30, 1940, daughter of Carl and Eleanor (nee Wilde) Grupe. She attended local schools and graduated in 1958 from Port Washington High School. Alice married Wilmer Roller Jr. (1959 - 1967). She later married Ronald Strauss Sr. (1969-1979). Alice was a woman of many talents. Throughout life she waitressed at both the 57 Truck Stop and Harry's Restaurant. She worked on the line at Power Products in Grafton, and finally farming along side her husband Ronald from 1970 until his death in 1979. After Ronald's death, it was decided that her son John would come back home to continue operating the farm. Later they were joined by her son Ronald Jr. until 2018. She enjoyed knitting, gardening, cooking, especially her famous German Potato Salad, going to the casino, and cheering on her beloved Packers and Brewers. Alice is survived by her children John (JoAnn) Roller, Jean Roller, Jeffery (Suzanne) Roller and Ronald Strauss Jr. , grandchildren John Roller Jr. , Jeriann (Bryan) Schueller, Matthew (Amy) Roller, and Jacob (Julie) Roller. She is further survived by great-grandchildren William Schueller, Gracie Roller, Olivia, and George Roller, sister Ellen Orsina, and nephew Christopher Osina. Alice is preceded in death by her parents, husbands Wilmer Roller Jr. and Ronald Strauss Sr. , daughter Jodi Strauss, brother Karl Grupe, grandson Justin "JJ" Roller, nephew Michael Grupe, and brothers-in-law Richard Orsina and Jeffery Thiel. Per Alice's wishes there will be no services.

Margaret H. Hoffmann "Marge"Margaret Hoffmann, a beloved member of the Port Washington community, peacefully passed away on December 5, 2023, in the company of her loving family. She was 88 years old. Marge was born on February 17, 1935, the oldest daughter of Walter and Adeline (nee Sans) Dauska. She grew up in Port Washington, where she attended St. Mary's Grade School and later graduated from Port Washington High School with the class of 1953. Demonstrating her passion for education, Marge earned a bachelor's degree in education from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1957. On June 29, 1957, Marge married the love of her life, Wayne Hoffmann, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Port Washington. Their marriage would remain strong for 64 years until Wayne's passing in 2022. Together, the couple operated Hoffmann's Pharmacy in Port Washington, a cherished establishment in the community. After retiring from the pharmacy, Marge continued to serve others as a part-time cashier at Walmart in Saukville for 15 years. As a devoted member of St. John XXIII Parish, Marge's faith played an integral role in her life. She actively participated in the parish community, finding solace and inspiration in her faith journey. Marge was known for her generosity and as an active volunteer. She devoted her time and energy to various endeavors including the Port Washington Jaycettes, the Port Washington Historical Society, and the Port Washington Chamber of Commerce, where she served as secretary. She was a dedicated Cub Scout leader, Girl Scout leader, and Girl Scout site coordinator. Marge's caring nature was evident as one of the coordinators for the St. Ben's Meal Program, ensuring that those in need never went hungry. Her passion for her hometown also led her to serve on the committee that moved the Pebble House and the planning of the City of Port Washington's Sesquicentennial. She also served as a poll worker and enjoyed her time assisting voters. In her free time, Marge had fun golfing with the Hawthorne Honeys. She enjoyed needlepoint and making candles, and also learned chair caning. She was an excellent cook and baker known for her Twinkie torte and Nackey cake. Marge and Wayne enjoyed traveling and were fortunate to visit destinations like Hawaii and Alaska plus 45 other states, plus Panama, Switzerland, Germany, Russia, Mexico, Ireland, and other countries. Left to cherish Marge's legacy are her three loving children: Paul (Jolee) Hoffmann, Anne (Richard) Brown, and Mary (Scott Quattromani) Hoffmann. She is further survived by seven grandchildren: Marc, Jamie, Matthew, Emily, Eleanor, Alexander, and Katarina, 15 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter, her two brothers Walter (Judy) and John (Jeanne) Dauska, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Adeline, and her husband Wayne. Visitation for Marge will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at 2:00 PM at St. John XXIII Parish - St. Peter of Alcantara Church, Port Washington, where family and friends can gather to remember her remarkable life. Longtime Cedarburg resident, Bob Fisher passed away on Thursday December 7, 2023 at the age of 78. Robert Lewis Fisher was born in Milwaukee on June 2, 1945, the son of Lewis and Ethel (nee Roller) Fisher. He was united in marriage to Marjorie "Marge" Mondloch at St. Nicholas Church in Milwaukee on October 10, 1964. Nick was called to eternity on Sunday morning, December 3, 2023, at his residence in Oshkosh, WI. He was 21 years old. Born to Vince and Sherri (nee Krook) Pepin on January 3, 2002, at Fort Lewis, Washington, Nick grew up in Hartford and attended local schools before continuing his education in Oshkosh. Nick brought immeasurable joy and happiness into the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be remembered for his caring heart and his deep commitment to his family and friends. Nicholas will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of crossing paths with him. His infectious smile, captivating personality, cutting wit and fiery spirit touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts. LeRoy "Lee" F. Jost,Lee Jost of Cedarburg, WI was called to Heaven on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at the age of 95. He was born at the old St. Michael's Hospital in Milwaukee on June 21st, 1928 to proud German immigrants, Emilia and Gustav Jost. Lee was a man of strong Christian faith, love of Country and had great pride in his German heritage. He married his loving wife Mary Scalissi on July 12, 1986 at Advent Lutheran Church in Cedarburg. The Memoirs Lee wrote and finalized recently reflect on many childhood memories of growing up in Milwaukee, including circus parades coming to town on North Avenue, horse and wagon junk collectors, his childhood newspaper route and summers consisting of family picnicking and camping in local parks. One highlight recalls a 50 mile bike ride with his buddies to Mauthe Lake in the Kettle Moraine for a week of camping. Following his graduation from Messmer High School in 1946, Lee enlisted in the United States Army. In November 1946 he embarked on the USAT Marine Swallow with the 7th Infantry Division for South Korea. During his two year service he was promoted to "buck Sargent" and eventually transferred to Armed Forces Radio in Seoul where he served as an Announcer until March 1948. Upon his return from Service Lee entered Marquette University on the GI Bill where he received his undergrad and graduate degrees. While at Marquette he developed a love for acting and starred in many performances including a European production of Longfellow's Song of Hiawatha. The tour included a private performance for the Pope with individual conversations following. Lee's professional career began as a Speech Instructor at Marquette University. He eventually transitioned to the employee benefit field in which he served as a Consultant and Administrative Manager to many collective bargaining Pension and Health and Welfare Trust Funds. For close to 40 years Lee guided hundreds of Labor and Management Trustees in their Fiduciary Responsibilities of those Jointly Managed Benefit Plans. His first and primary role included the position of Administrative Manager of the Building Trades United Pension Trust Fund. With his extensive experience and acquired respect in the industry, Lee started two companies in 1981 specializing in Administration and Consulting. At the age of 69 Lee sold his companies and sought retirement part time in Fountain Hills, AZ where he and Mary spend their winter months. At home in Cedarburg, WI he enjoyed building his museum caliber model railroad and in recent years he worked tirelessly on his memoirs. Lee is survived by his beloved wife Mary; four children, David (Anna) Jost, Jody (Jon)Currie, Scott (Karla) Storlid, Jennifer (Richard) Yandow and along with nine grandchildren, Brandon, Jake, Olivia, Alex, Sam, John, Katie, Keller and Archer. There will be a funeral service held for Lee on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at 12:00 PM at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church (N44W6055 Hamilton Road Cedarburg, WI 53012). A visitation will be from 10:00 AM till 11:45 AM at church. Military Honors will immediately follow the service and a celebration of life luncheon will be held at the Peter Wollner Post 288 in Cedarburg after Military Honors. Mr. Ray Vokoun of Cedarburg passed away peacefully at his residence late Monday evening, November 27, 2023. He was 85 years old. Raymond was born in Phillips, WI, on May 26, 1938, to Edward and Bessie (nee Kavina) Vokoun. He attended local schools and graduated from Phillips High School, Class of 1957. Following his schooling, Ray proudly served in the US Army and was stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington. On January 26, 1963, Ray was united in marriage with Caroline Gagas at St. Mary -Torun Catholic Church in Stevens Point. The couple moved to Milwaukee where Ray worked as a roofer with Roofers Union Local 65. In 1971 they moved their family to Cedarburg. Ray continued as a roofer with the union until 2002. Mr. Vokoun loved being outside cutting wood, so he could fire up his beloved woodstove. He enjoyed hunting, feeding the squirrels and rabbits in his backyard, and going to his property up north. Those left to cherish Ray's memory include his wife Caroline, son Patrick Vokoun of Jackson, daughter Dawn (the late David) Inselman of Juneau, and granddaughter Amanda (Jake) Croatt. He is further survived by three great-grandchildren: Jade, Walker and Josie Croatt, brother-in-law Joe Polacek, nieces, nephews, other family and many friends. Ray is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jerome and Edward, and sister Bernice Polacek. Anthony (Tony) James Fojut, 83, of Cedarburg, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 25th, with his family at his side. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a passion for life. Born on March 6, 1940, Anthony was a devoted father to his three children, Michele, Michael, and Gregg. He was a pillar of strength and support, always there to offer guidance and encouragement. His love for his family was evident in the countless cherished memories they created together. Anthony grew up in Milwaukee, WI and attended Messner Catholic High School, where he met his wife, Carol Ann (Achatz). Anthony served his country in the Army reserves before he and his wife, Carol, settled in Cedarburg, WI. They were one of the first homes in the neighborhood. Anthony and Carol started their family here and considered Cedarburg home for the rest of his life. Anthony had an analytical mind and enjoyed solving problems. He integrated this into his career in industrial manufacturing. He was a tool design engineer at Falk Corporation and Wacker Neuson. A true enthusiast of the game, Anthony found immense joy on the golf course. Golf was a family event that he enjoyed with his father (Vincent), brother (Thomas) and sons (Michael and Gregg). Whether it was a sunny day with friends, or a quiet afternoon spent practicing his swing, golf was not just a hobby but a source of happiness and camaraderie. His passion for the sport will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of sharing those moments with him. Anthony James Fojut is survived by his wife, Carol Ann (Achatz), his brother Thomas (Chandra), his children Michele, Michael (Shannon) and Gregg (Karen), his grandchildren Kayla (Dustin), Ellie, Max, Luke and his great-granddaughter Raelynn, and a community of friends who will forever cherish the time they spent with him. Sandra Ann Bish, (nee Holtslander) from Saukville, WI, peacefully passed away into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Saturday, November 18, 2023, at age 68. Born in Milwaukee, WI to Ronald Sr. and Patricia Holtslander on May 25, 1955, Sandra is survived by her former husband Frederick Gatzke, son Gordon Gatzke of Port Washington, father Ronald Holtslander Sr. , also of Port Washington, sister Linda (Eric) Johnson of Princeton, WI, and brother Ronald (Lisa) Holtslander II of Port Washington. She is further survived by four nieces and nephews: Denyelle (John) Kosel, Clinton Templeman, Ronald Holtslander III, and Amanda (Jason) Esselmann. Sandra was also a great-aunt, niece, cousin and friend. She is proceeded in death by her mother Patricia Holtslander, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Sandra graduated from Port Washington High School in 1973. She was a member of the Port Washington Mariners Drill Team and was also a Girl Scout. Sandra worked as the store manager for Lauer Hardware in Port Washington and later owned and operated her own cleaning company. Sandra was a very talented baker and made beautiful cakes including tiered wedding cakes down to special ordered decorated sheet cakes. She was also very creative with arts and crafts and attended many art shows throughout the years. She was a volunteer at a Soup Kitchen for the homeless in Milwaukee, WI, for many years and taught the cooks how to prepare venison. As a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church (presently St. John XXIII Parish), she served as EMHC administering the Holy Eucharist to the sick and elderly. She also spent many years as an 8th grade CCD teacher. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30PM on Saturday, December 9th at St. John XXIII - St. Mary's Church (420 Johnson St. ) in Port Washington. Father Patrick Wendt will preside. The family will receive visitors at the church on Saturday, December 9th from 11AM until Mass begins at 12:30PM. Paul Wester, of Port Washington, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away surrounded by his loving family on November 27, 2023, at the age of 73. Paul was born on May 13, 1950, in Port Washington, son of Henry and Viola (nee Weiland) Wester. He was raised in Belgium and was a 1968 graduate of Cedar Grove High School. On June 16, 1973, he married Mary Widmann at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Wauwatosa. The couple celebrated their 50th anniversary in June. After high school, Paul began his career in shoe sales for Allen Edmonds in Belgium, working his way up to a management position. In 1993, he started his second career as the owner and operator of Milwaukee Door Sales and Service, and later opened Wester Overhead Door in Port Washington. With his expertise and dedication, he provided exceptional service to his customers, leaving a lasting impact on the community. Paul's passion for community service extended beyond his professional life. For many years, he served on the volunteer fire department in Belgium. He will be remembered for his efforts as a longtime member of the Port Washington Parks and Recreation Board, playing a crucial role in the creation of the new Port Washington Public Pool in 1998. In his spare time, Paul pursued his hobbies with great enthusiasm. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and woodworking. Paul loved working on his hobby farm, where he found solace and peace in nature. Paul will forever be remembered as a hardworking, compassionate, and family-oriented individual. His legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of all who were fortunate enough to know him. Paul will be greatly missed by his wife, Mary Wester of Port Washington, his three children: Kate (Jason Grubb) Wester of Evergreen, CO, Sarah (Tom) Grisar of Grafton, and Mike Wester of Port Washington. Daniel "Danny" Kuehl entered into Eternal Life on Monday, November 27, 2023, at home. He was 68 years old. Daniel was born on June 30, 1955, in Watertown, Wisconsin to parents David and JoAnn (nee Kasten) Kuehl. He grew up in Hustisford and graduated from Hustisford High School in 1973. Following high school, Daniel served in the US Marines and was honorably discharged in 1977. Daniel was united in marriage to Denise Anderson on December 1, 1984, at St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Hustisford. Together they raised their son, Jordan. Daniel worked for his dad, David Kuehl, who owned Kuehl & Sons Dairy. Daniel later bought the business from his dad, and operated it until he retired in 2015. He enjoyed spending time outside doing yardwork. On Sundays after church, Daniel could always be found wherever the Hustisford Astros were playing. Coco, the family dog, loved being by Daniel's side, especially when he would treat her with a steak bone. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Being a grandpa was one of Daniels greatest joys. Daniel is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Denise, his son, Jordan (Kristy) Kuehl, and granddaughters Blakely and Emersyn.
