Alfredo Berlanga Obituary

Funeral services for Alfredo Berlanga, 67, of Lufkin, will be held Thursday, April 27, 2023, at 11:00 a. m. at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church in Lufkin with Fr. Ian Bordenave, O. P. and Deacon Gary Trevino officiating. Mr. Berlanga was born on August 19, 1955, in Lubbock, Texas, to the late Margarito and Dora (Gutierrez) Berlanga, and died Friday, April 21, 2023, in Lufkin. Mr. Berlanga enjoyed working and was a very hard worker. He was a friendly person and had a lot of friends to show for it. Mr. Berlanga loved animals, especially his dogs. Above all, he loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Berlanga would give the shirt off of his back and was a cheerful giver. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jesus and Celia Ovalle of Lufkin; granddaughter and husband, Imelda and Rafael Perez of Lufkin; grandson, Jesus Ovalle of Lufkin; granddaughter, Natali Ovalle of Lufkin; granddaughter, Ana Karen Ovalle of Lufkin; grandson, Santos Ovalle of Lufkin; great-grandson, Rafael Perez of Lufkin; great-granddaughter, Leilani Perez of Lufkin; sister, Frances Berlanga of Santa Fe, California; and brother, Aurthur Berlanga of Las Vegas, NV. He was preceded in death by his parents. Pallbearers will be Jesus Ovalle, Jesus A. Ovalle, Rafael Perez, and Jose Vazquez. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p. m. to 7:00 p. m. , Monday, April 24, 2023, at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p. m. Shafer Funeral Home, Lufkin directors.
