Albert Rojas Soto - "Nani"Beloved Son, Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, and Man of GodAlbert R. Soto, 85, died Monday, Sept. 4, 2023 at his home in Avondale surrounded by his family. Albert was born April 5, 1938, in Tolleson, Arizona to Juan Jose Soto and Rosario Rojas. He was 1 of 8 children and is survived by his siblings, George Soto (brother) and Ramona Rojas (sister). He attended Tolleson Elementary and graduated from Tolleson Union High School in 1958, Throughout his childhood and early adolescence, Albert was a talented athlete who was known for his skills on the basketball court, softball, baseball and football field. Albert married Estella Trinidad Soto on Nov. 12, 1960. The two were high school sweethearts that were struck with love when they met for the first time at Pete's Fish n Chips in Tolleson, Arizona. They were blessed with 6 children; Francisca Chavez (Rick Chavez), Albert Soto Jr. (Wendy Soto), Michelle Gillis (Larry Gillis), Gabriel Soto (Christine Soto), Tanya Soto+, Salina Soto, and Ruth Leo (Anthony Leo). Albert had 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Albert worked as a tanker truck driver for Shell Oil Company for 25 years out of San Bernardino, California. He retired at the age of 59 to enjoy his family and to return back to his home in Arizona. As everyone knows, Albert was a man of hard work and server of the community. He spent most of his retired life as an active member of the Knights of Columbus, Blessed Sacrament Church, Tolleson Food Bank, and volunteer at Food City in Avondale. Albert will be remembered forever for his beautiful voice that won the hearts of many as he loved to sing Mariachi music to all who would listen. "Nani" will also always hold the title of most dedicated Arizona Diamondback's Fan and supporter of his Arizona Cardinals and PhoenixSuns. To many he was an amazing, kind, giving, loving, and charming man. To other they will always know him for his legacy in the church and community. To his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren he was our hero!We love you forever now, Dad - Tatal You are always in our hearts!
