Shirley Ann Becker, wife of the late Bruce Gregory Becker Sr, passed away peacefully October 24,2023 with family by her side. She was born April 15, 1935 in Evanston, IL to the late John andMargaret Uttenreuther. She was the younger sister of the late Robert Uttenreuther. Shirley grew up in Kenilworth, Ill with her parents and brother and attended New Trier HighSchool. Shortly after, she married Bruce Becker, Sr. and began a family. They moved toNorthbrook in 1955, where they resided until their retirement. Throughout her life, Shirley wasalways a loving and giving person. She devoted her time not only to her family, but to thecommunity as well. She provided a home where all were welcome, and was known as 'Mom' bymany. She was a volunteer and social activist for the betterment of the community, and laterwent on to work for the Northbrook Police Department for 22 yearsShe, along, with her husband shared a love of animals and had dogs throughout their lives. Herrecent dog Lola was considered her most beloved dog of all. Shirley is survived by her children Bruce Jr, Timothy (Sherry), Stephen (Maria); daughters SandraSierzega (Paul), Kimberly; beloved Curt and Karen. Cherished grandmother of Melinda (Jeff) Korn,Richard Becker, Kevin (Kristi) Sierzega, Nicholas Becker, Joseph Bradley, Tyler (Alissa) Sierzega,Christopher Becker, Jennifer Becker, and Brianna Sierzega; great-grandmother of Kairiann, Leoand Henry Korn, Tyler and Emmett Sierzega, and Noah and James Sierzega. A visitation will be held Sunday, October 29, 2023 from 1 - 5 pm at Kelley & Spalding FuneralHome, 1787 Deerfield Rd. , Highland Park, IL. A funeral mass will be held Monday, October 30, 2023at 10 am at St. Norbert Church, 1809 Walters Ave, Northbrook, IL. Interment at Sacred HeartCemetery, Northbrook, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children'sHospital, or the Dementia Society of America.
