Alan Dowell Obituary

Atlanta - Mr. Alan Dale Dowell, 48, beloved son of Roger and Dorothy Dowell, died Monday, May 8, 2023 in Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. Funeral services will be at 2 p. m. Friday, May 12, 2023, in the Curtis Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Jimmy Martin and Rev. Gary Caudill officiating. Mr. Dowell was a native of Galax, VA, but lived in Thomson for many years. After graduation he lived in Atlanta where he worked for C. D. C. in the Research Department. Survivors include his parents, Roger and Dorothy Dowell, Thomson; his sister, Tammy (David) Webster, Thomson; and his two brothers, Larry (Jen) Chambers and Gary (Toni) Chambers, both of Blairsville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Washington Heights Baptist Church, 1495 Washington Road, Thomson GA 30824 Friends may call at the Curtis Funeral Home.
