Adeline Frances Micheletti, passed away on February 23, 2019 at age 88. Addie, as she was known by her friends and family, is survived by Sister Carmen Vanzandt; Daughters Vicki Fowler and Kathleen Heidemann; son John Senior and his wife Deborah; grandsons Alex Senior and Robbie Senior and friend and companion Darrell "Rocky" Wilson. She is preceded in death by her brothers Ignacio Montes, Victor Montes, Hector Montes and Richard Montes; first husband John Senior and second husband Othello Micheletti; parents Victor and Natividad Montes; foster parents John and Gertrude Griffin. Addie was born on May 24, 1930 in San Francisco CA. to Victor and Natividad Montes. She was orphaned at an early age and raised by John and Gertrude Griffin, in Loomis, CA. Growing up on the ranch Addie learned many lessons she would carry throughout her life, one of those was helping out others. During WWII she and her family helped maintain Japanese neighbors' farms while they were interned during the war. Making sure their neighbors were able to come home to their farms after the war was a source of pride the family always maintained. After graduating from Placer High School, she joined the Army during the Korean War and it was during her enlistment that she met and married her first husband. They settled into civilian life in Citrus Heights and raised two children. After her divorce, she moved to Santa Clara where she worked at Kress variety store, managing the lunch counter. In 1974 she married Othello "Duke" Micheletti and moved to Manteca CA where she worked at Value Giant/Payless until her retirement. During retirement Addie enjoyed playing bingo and cooking for special occasions for friends and family. After Duke passed away, she became involved in community activities and helping others. She was a member of the Manteca Historical Society and helped with the Palmer Troop Box packaging events. Addie could always be counted on to bake a cake or whip up a batch of potato salad for any of her friends celebrating an event. Her favorite places to serve as a volunteer were for the Manteca Senior Center and the American Legion where she and Rocky were active members. Addie was a die-hard San Francisco 49ers fan. She and Rocky would spend many hours watching and cheering on the 49ers, San Francisco Giants and Golden State Warriors. She would be at her happiest when loved ones came to visit and she could fuss all over them. When her Grandsons attended college nearby, she would beam with pride as they attended bingo games with her at the Senior Center or when she would visit her Children and make them their favorite meals. She had such happy times and great memories vacationing with Rocky, his children Glenn Wilson, Tim Wilson, Tami Steele and their families. Addie had a rich and wonderful life. She spent her life surrounded by people she loved and cared about and will be deeply missed by all those that knew and loved her. A Memorial is scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, March 16th 2019 at Park View Memorial Chapel, Manteca, California. A private internment for immediate family and American Legion Veterans will be held at the Santa Nella Central California Veteran's Cemetery. A Celebration of life for friends and family will be held and noticed at a future date. In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation in memory of Addie be made to the American Legion Post 249 Foundation, 220 E Yosemite Ave, Manteca CA. 95336 To send flowers to the family of Adeline Frances Micheletti, please visit our Heartfelt Sympathies Store.
