Adelina Davis Obituary

"Adelina "Lina" Acuna Davis was born October 13, 1935 in Willcox, Arizona where she lived the majority of her life and passed peacefully at her home April 21, 2023 at the age of 87. Lina dedicated her life to her four boys and enjoyed watching them play various sports in their younger years. When you walked in the house, the smell of freshly made tortillas would often greet you. Lina enjoyed reading, gardening, music and dance. Many of the stories she told included her favorite pastime - dancing. Lina was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church from baptism until death. She cleaned local doctor's offices and homes for many years, ran a daycare out of her home and later in life volunteered at St. Vincent De Paul Thrift Store. She is survived by her sons Michael (Danette) Davis, of Vail, Tony (Wendy) Davis of Willcox, Chris Davis of Willcox, and sister Terry Acuna Benavidez of Tucson. Grandchildren, Stephenie (Matt) Gathmann, Michael (Kirby) Davis, Tori (Syndric) Steptoe, T. J. (Amanda) Davis, Kyle (Victoria) Davis, Christopher Davis, Ernesto Davis, Nicole Davis and a host of great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her son Ernest Davis, mother, Josefa "Fita" Acuna, sister Leona Franco, brothers Joe Gonzalez and Ramon Acuna. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Anna Nandino and Shawnee Burkhead of the Charles W Leighton Jr Hospice Inc of Willcox and Sharon Tyler of Willcox for the outstanding and compassionate care given to her. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Charles W Leighton Jr Hospice Inc. or Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Willcox. Rosary will be offered at 6:00 PM on Sunday, April 30, 2023, at Westlawn Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 1, 2023, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery. "
