ZORNIGER, Deborah "Debbie," age 72, of Dayton, passed away February 27, 2024. It is with heavy hearts we say goodbye to a cherished wife, mother, and grandmother. Debbie was born February 10, 1952 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her father, Warren Busch; mother, Agnes Busch; sister, Bette; and friend, Jennifer Kidd. Debbie is survived by her beloved husband of 21 years, Don; son, Jacob Zorniger; daughter, Liz (Donny) Kleen; grandchildren, Sabra and Sylvia Kleen; brother, John Eichelberger; and numerous extended family members and friends. Debbie is a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother to her family. She was known as a Patriot who loved her country. In her free time, she tended to her garden, danced, read, and completed many arts and crafts. Debbie had a passion for animals and would always help animals in need. What she loved most was spending time with her family, she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 from 3:00PM to 4:00PM at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Road, Kettering, OH 45429. Born on November 23, 1947 in Connersville, Indiana, son of the late Harry & Beulah Francis (Garwood) Hudson, Jr. Mike graduated in 1965 from Eaton High School. He had worked as a farmer in Dixon Township, Preble County, Ohio for most of his life. Owner and Operator of Mike’s Septic Pumping in Eaton, Ohio. Preceded by his brother, Brian Patrick Hudson in 2023.Survived by his wife of 30 years, Connie (Lindsey) Hudson; daughters, Nicole Morrow and Tara Burleson all of Eaton, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Katlynn, Wyatt, Kirsten, Jordan, Sierra, Haley, Noah, and Blake; one great granddaughter, Meadow.Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, March 4, 2024 at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, Ohio. Carol Rose Criswell passed away on Feb. 9, 2024 at the age of 91, in Dayton, Ohio. Born in Adena, Ohio on Feb. 28, 1932, Carol was the youngest daughter of Victor and Lucy Murphy Marbais. Carol married Shelton Criswell (JR) and they moved to Canton, Ohio where they raised their two children. Carol loved gardening and birds. She was active in the community, serving as a volunteer at her children’s school and as den mother for her son Brian’s Cub Scout den. She was later active with her neighborhood association and senior citizen social organizations. Carol was the storyteller of the family, with a remarkable memory and a large collection of family stories. Our gatherings will be a little less rich without her. Carol is preceded in death by her parents, her four siblings - Oscar Marbais, Roderick Marbais, Arlene Shank and Virginia Crothers - her husband JR Criswell, long time dear friend Walter Zilman, son Brian Scott Criswell, and many other friends and family members. She is survived by her daughter Janice Griffin, three grandsons Stephen, Matthew and Samuel, and countless nieces, nephews and other relatives. Friends may call from 1:30pm - 2:30pm on Sunday, March 3, 2024 in the Karlo-Libby Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 2:30pm at the funeral home. HANDLER, Charlotte of Dayton, Ohio passed away on February 27, 2024, at the age of 94. She is survived by her son Robert and daughter-in-law Nancy, of Los Angeles, California, and her son Jeffrey and daughter-in-law Karen Rabin, of Fairfax, Virginia, and her grandchildren Zachary, William, Jenna, and Lia. She is preceded in death by her husband William Handler, brother Gilbert Marvin, and sister Emily Bruck. Charlotte was a longtime member of Beth Abraham Synagogue and enjoyed her connections with the synagogue sisterhood and Hadassah. She had many passions, including a lifelong love of learning. She graduated from Wright State University as an adult and went on to be a substitute French teacher in the Dayton public schools. She loved reading, playing Mahjong, knitting, art, theatre, music, and travel. Charlotte was a “people person” who loved spending time with friends and family, and always liked to stay in touch with members of her community. She truly will be missed. Funeral services will be held on Sunday March 3, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Beth Abraham Cemetery Chapel, 1817 West Schantz Avenue. Diana "Dee" Dycus, age 77 of Miamisburg, OH and formerly of Germantown, OH passed away peacefully at Hospice of Dayton on January 30, 2024. She was born in Dayton, OH to the late Ernest and Irene (Schwarzkof) Janka and graduated from Meadowdale High School. Dee loved her family and pets, and she enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was working in her flower garden or hiking. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Michael Dycus. She is survived by her husband Sam Dycus, her son Brian (Angela) Dycus, grandchildren Faith, Russell and Iris Dycus, granddaughter Cierra (Dustin) Camden, great grandchildren Raylan and River Camden, her sister Barbara Carey, brothers Ernest and Robert Janka, as well as numerous extended family members and friends who will miss Dee and her big smile dearly. John D. Wellbaum, age 87 of Farmersville, OH passed away peacefully at Hospice of Dayton in February, 2024. He was born on July 2, 1936 to the late John Clarence and Ruth (Barnett) Wellbaum and graduated from Farmersville High School, class of 1954. John had a strong work ethic, he retired from DP&L after 44 years of service and also worked on his farm, he was also a devoted member of Trinity Church of New Lebanon where he served on council and was an Elder of the church. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn Sue Wellbaum and 1 great grandchild. John is survived by his 4 children Sue (Bob) Shears, Dan (Kay) Wellbaum, Barb (Tim) Hardin, Steve (Debbie) Wellbaum, 12 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 10 step great grandchildren, 3 sisters Anne Spencer, Mary Johnson, Nancy Hartrum and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly. The family will receive friends for a visitation on Sunday, February 25, 2024 from 3-5PM at Trinity Church of New Lebanon, 1830 W Main St. New Lebanon, OH 45345. On Monday February 26th, there will be a one hour visitation at the church from 10-11am with funeral services beginning promptly at 11am with Pastor Charlie Honeywell officiating. John will be laid to rest during a private burial at Trissel Cemetery, next to his wife. Garry Wayne Elam

ELAM, Garry Wayne, 77, a proud Dayton resident, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2024. Born on January 2, 1947, to Courtney Jr. and Mildred Elam. Garry led a fulfilling life dedicated to service and family. After graduating high school, he served his country in Vietnam, then continued his dedication as an Operations Manager for the City of Dayton. In his downtime, he loved nothing more than hunting and spending time at the lake. Garry was a kind soul who was always willing to give a helping hand. Garry was also an active member of his community, involved in the Masons, Shriners, the Scottish Rite, and serving as the Commander of the American Legion Post 619. A family man at heart, his greatest joys were spending time with his loved ones. Garry is preceded in death by his beloved partner, Gina Heil, but leaves behind his son, Garry II (Heather), grandchildren Jessica (Justin), Garry III, and Hannah, as well as his great-grandchildren Mya and Ellie, and his brother, Larry (Pat). Funeral arrangements are being made at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, where family and friends may gather on Monday, February 26, between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm to pay their last respects. The funeral service will commence at 1:00 pm at the funeral home, followed by his internment at Miami Valley Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Alzheimer's Association, 6 N. Main St., Ste. 130, Dayton, OH 45402, to honor Garry's memory and the lives he touched. Garry will forever be remembered for his dedication, service, and love for his family and community.
