Joe Willie Spaulding

Joe Willie Spaulding was born September 5, 1947 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Ada and Charlie Ray Spaulding. Joe along with his brother Nathaniel and sister Gail were later moved to Adairville, Kentucky with their Father when Joe was 3 years old. There Joe lived with his grandmother Magnolia Spaulding and later raised by Lucille Spaulding.Joe went to school in Adairville, Kentucky and at an early age he accepted Christ into his life and became a member of Selectman Chapel AME Church.In 1964 Joe joined the Army and completed his education. After serving 3 years in the military, Joe moved to Kansas and worked for Barnes & Dodge Prefabrication and later retired from City Wide.Joe had a passion for cars and became the Mechanic that everyone could call on. "Smokin Joe" He loved working on cars and riding his motorcycle and became a member of Force One Motorcycle Club. You could always find him under the hood of anything that had four wheels and an engine. Most importantly he enjoyed spending time with his Family and Friends sitting in his driveway spreading word of God and encouraging everyone to live life and enjoy each and every moment because tomorrow isn’t promised.Joe Spaulding was blessed to have loved three wonderful women throughout his life. Willia Stuart (who proceeded him in death) to this union four children. Carol Johnson to this union three children and Teresa Spaulding to this union two children.Joe is preceded in death by his mother and father Ada and Charlie Ray Spaulding, a brother Walter Lee White and two sisters Evorah Jean Ducan and Joyce Ann Spaulding.He leaves to cherish his memories, Wife Teresa Spaulding. His children Sheryl Lewis, Cortell(Janice) Stuart Sr, Shirley Stuart-Jackson, Joe W Spaulding Jr, Anita Mason, LaTanya Savage, Jeainnie Johnson, Marshall Salter and Steven Salter, Brothers Nathaniel(Michelle)Spaulding, Frankie(Deborah)Spaulding and James(Twanda)Spaulding. Sisters Gail(Raymond)Mason, Cheryl Sydnor, Marilyn Spaulding, Deborah(David)Spaulding and Bonita Spaulding. Grandchildren, Great-grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.Pop`s….. Michael Paul Johns, age 64, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 27th, 2024, at North Kansas City Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit. Michael was born in Blue Springs, Missouri on May 2nd, 1959. He married Susan Callaway on August 16th, 1980 in Kearney, Missouri. Together, they had 4 children Mykaela, Hannah, Robert, and Richard; and one granddaughter Lexie. Michael is preceded in death by his father Richard Johns. Michael is survived by his wife Susan Johns, his children Mykaela Townsend, Hannah Moore, Robert Johns, and Richard Johns, his granddaughter Lexie Moore, his son-in-law Patrick Moore, his mother Patty Johns, his sisters Linda Thompson and Sandy Jones. Michael grew up as a farmer then became a carpenter and then finished his life by being a farmer again. He graduated from Kearney High School in 1977. Michael’s hobbies include fishing, cooking, gardening, mowing, taking care of animals, spending time with family, driving fast cars, and watching college football or his favorite NFL team the Broncos. His favorite places were Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri, or the rocking chairs on his front porch. Being with Michael felt like being at home, everyone felt peace and comfort with him. He was the best husband, father, grandpa, and friend. Family was his #1 priority, with animals being a close second. He was a big kid at heart and a best friend to all his kids. He could always make you laugh and everyone left with a smile on their face. He was a very humble, unselfish man with a very big heart. Michael left us too soon, but his impact will live on forever.

Mark J Halloran

Mark J Halloran 64 passed away peacefully February 1, 2024, with family by his side, at Saint Joseph Hospital. Mark was preceded in death by his grandparents, Angelo and Marie Rossato, John and Gertrude Halloran, parents John and Virginia Halloran and brother John Halloran. Mark graduated from Grandview High School in 1978 and attended Longview Community College. Mark worked in the alarm business and eventually owned his own company, Halloran Security, Inc. Mark loved watching Kansas City sport teams, camping, and enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing at Bennett Springs. He had many hobbies and was always tinkering away on a project. He is survived by his four children, David Campbell, Angela Halloran, Cecily Mullinax (Cole) and Katheryn Halloran. Sisters, Karon McGlinn (Mike),Shawn Giblin (Graham), Rita Hense (Gary), Mary Scobee (William) and grandchildren, Kaidan, Sawyer and Lily and numerous nieces and nephews. Mark had a very generous spirit and was a great friend to many. He never knew a stranger and will be truly missed. A mass of Christian Burial will be held March 15 at 10am at Christ the King Church, 8510 Wornall Road with internment to follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery 7601 Blue Ridge Blvd Raytown, MO The family suggests contributions to the Salvation Army in his memory.

James Edward Fisher passed away peacefully on February 25, 2024. He was born in Kansas City, MO and attended Rockhurst High School and Regis University. His career in the food brokerage business took him to Boston, Massachusetts. After several years he returned to Kansas City where he continued his career in that field. In the mid 80’s he began a family business with his brothers and sister in the produce packaging business. He was an avid storyteller, had a great sense of humor, a passion for local history and the civil war and was a dedicated sports fan. He was well-loved and had a large group of lifelong close friends. Jimmy is preceded in death by his father and mother, George and Angela Fisher, his sister Kay Hoffman, and his brother, Thomas Fisher. He is survived by his siblings, G. Robert Fisher, Mary Jane Glazer and Barbara Judge; his three children, Christine Fisher, Jennifer (Scott) Gregg, and James Fisher (Tim Wikstrom). He leaves behind his four grandchildren, Jack, Sam, Emily Gregg, and Juliana LanFranca as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Sally Ann Firestone

Sally Ann Firestone was born in Chicago March 22, 1947 to Jesse E. Firestone and Marian Lucille Barger Firestone. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers: Robert D. Firestone and Richard G. Firestone. Being a preacher’s kid meant Sally moved a lot: Skokie, Woodstock, Oak Park, Geneva, and Belvedere, Illinois. She graduated from Geneva Community High School in 1965 and Illinois Wesleyan University in 1969. Sally moved to Kansas City in 1975 and worked at Peck & Peck, Addressograph-Multigraph, and then IBM. Her life dramatically changed in 1981. She survived catastrophic injuries in the Hyatt skywalk collapse, leaving her to figure out how to live life as a quadriplegic. She has done so with incredible good spirits, determination and service: as a board member for St. Paul School of Theology, the Folly Theatre, the Kansas City Academy, Kingswood Senior Living Community, Central United Methodist Church (now Resurrection Brookside), and the American Jazz Museum. She has been an enthusiastic supporter of the Kansas City Ballet, the Heartland Men’s Chorus, Harvesters, the Whole Person, Friends of Alvin Ailey, and SAVE, Inc. Sally wanted her caregivers to know how much she appreciated their care and dedication, especially Vickie Mitchell. She is survived by a host of friends who will never forget her and three cousins: David Firestone (Olathe, KS), Ruth Ann Firestone (Dallas,TX), and Sara Firestone (Charleston, SC) and her daughter Satima, as well as extended family in Lake Geneva, Wi. Sally has requested that in lieu of flowers she may be remembered by a donation to the Kingswood Foundation, 10000 Wornall Rd, KCMO 64114 or to Resurrection Brookside. A Celebration of Life Service will be held after Easter, please check back for day and time once scheduled.

Mildred Lorene Gambino, age 81, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by family on Tuesday, February 27, 2024. She was born January 11, 1943, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Ralph E. Walker and Elva Jean (Muck) Boyce. Mildred was raised in Kansas City. She worked at Sears Roebuck and Co through the 1970’s. She enjoyed spending her time shopping, crocheting, and planting flowers in her garden. She will be remembered for her love of chocolate and her beautiful, crocheted blankets the family will cherish. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Walker and Elva Jean (Muck) Boyce, and brother, Richard Walker. Mildred is survived by her twin sister, Mary Santellan; her son, Anthony (Liz) Gambino, and daughters, Christina Toia and Debra Gambino; she leaves seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Her family brought her joy and love throughout the years. Visitation will be Saturday, March 9, 2024 10:0am, at the Revelation’s Mausoleum in White Chapel Cemetery, 6600 NE Antioch Road, Gladstone, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM with committal to follow.
