"Teddy" Sweeden Obituary

"Teddy" Theodore Marshall Sweeden 79 of Atkins passed away Saturday, September 9, at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born July 20, 1944, in Morrilton to Theodore Donald and Helen Foster Sweeden. He was a member of Victory Assembly of God Church in Atkins. Teddy was known for the stories he told and his contagious laughter. He took pride in being a cowboy and riding his horse across the mountain he called home but his greatest joy in life was spending time with his loving wife, family, and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life, Glenda Sweeden; 2 sons Terry Alan Sweeden, and John T Brooks (Johnny); daughter, Belinda Brooks (Babo); and one sister, Brenda Kay Caldwell. He is survived by his best friend and son, Tim Sweeden and wife Cresha of Atkins, AR; daughter, Amanda and husband Rickie Lee of Russellville, AR; daughter-in-law, Dana Brooks of Panama, OK; grandchildren, Nicholas and Michelle Sweeden of Morrilton, AR, Tawnie Sweeden, Tate Sweeden, Tyler Sweeden & Ashley Sweeden of Atkins, AR, Brittany Dill and husband Casey of McCurtain, OK, Trace Brooks and Fiance McKinsey of Poteau, OK, Katelyn Rye, Shelby and husband Garrett Steuber, and Hunter Rye and wife Shaylee of Russellville, AR; great-grandchildren, Kamdyn Dill, Maverick Dill, Kynlei Dill, Mayli Dill & Kainan Dill all of McCurtain, Ok, Kace Brooks, Grayson Brooks & Salem Brooks all of Poteau, OK, Rickey Gollihar of Panama, OK, Madi Sweeden, Ahna Edmondson & Armoni Edmondson all of Atkins, AR, RG and Lyla Goodloe, Stevie Rye, Isabella Lee of Russellville, AR; sister, Regina and husband Larry Dobbins; and other family and friends. The visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, September 12, at Lemley Chapel. Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, September 13, at Lemley Chapel with Rev. Mike Chisum and Bro. Steve "Bro" Price officiating. Burial will be held in Childers Cemetery (Atkins) under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Pallbearers are Tony Reel, Tate Sweeden, Tyler Sweeden, Tim Dollar, Lance Hern, Alan Long, Robbi Schmoll, and Tom Howard.
